When you’re creating are you ever influenced by people you know? I definitely am. In fact yesterday’s beetle convertible birthday card attracted the attention of the person who inspired it. She loved it too, which was a relief! Today’s sneak peek project was inspired by the Stampin’ Up! artist who painted the designs for the Christmas Meadow 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). One sheet in particular called to me, and I intend to make the most of every scrap of the gorgeous ethereal deer scene, starting right here.

MISTY MEADOW

I love the misty look of this deer pattern which is very like a scene from my own garden. The sheet is designed to be divided in half across the centre so that’s what I did first. Next I trimmed a 2-1/2″ strip off the right-hand end of one of the halves. Finally, to get my deer centred I trimmed a 1/2″ strip off the right side. I’ll use that scrap another time.

Normally I cut my bookmark strips to 5-1/2″ high but I really didn’t want to waste anything. Instead I simply cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece of Pebbled Path Card. Then I mounted the DSP on top using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

Next I turned to the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set and chose “you can do amazing things”. Using Pebbled Path ink I stamped the sentiment directly onto the paper, above the trees.

To finish, I used the slot option on the Very Best Trio Punch to add a hole at the top of the layered strip. Then I cut two 6″ pieces of Pebbled Path twine from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim. After folding the trim in half I poked the loops through the slot. Then I threaded the cut ends through the loops and pulled gently to secure the twine in place. With that my first Winter Meadow project was complete.
