As we approach the end of both current Stampin’ Up! catalogues I’m watching the inventory reports very closely. Yesterday the Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends sold out and are now discontinued. From this I presume that Soft Succulent isn’t going to transition into one of the main Stampin’ Up! colour families when they’re refreshed in May. But the inventory report isn’t all bad news. In fact the Gnomes Dies are back and available to order again. These coordinate in part with the Friendly Gnomes Stamp Set used to create today’s card.

TRIO OF GNOMES
For this card I wanted to focus on the gnome with flowers in his beard. This is such a cute image and perfect to use alongside sentiments from many different stamp sets. So I began by cutting a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White Card. From the Through It Together Stamp Set I chose “Don’t let worry spoil your happy” and stamped it in the bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I stamped my gnome above the sentiment.
Before putting the image away I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card and took out a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then, still using Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the gnome in the bottom right corner of the card and envelope front. Now I just needed to colour my gnomes using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.

I began by using dark Balmy Blue to colour in his hat and trousers. Then I used the light Balmy Blue for his shirt sleeves. For his gloves and the centre of the flowers I chose dark Pumpkin Pie, before using the light marker for the flower petals and shoes. Finally I coloured the soles of his shoes in Bronze and finished his face with Ivory.
For my card base I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Pumpkin Pie Card. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the larger of the Basic White layers on the inside.
Next I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Cajun Craze Card and glued the remaining Basic White layer on top. Around the gnome I then added some small Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots and pressed them firmly into place. With that done I attached the assembled piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.
Cute, cute, cute! and so quick and easy to make. Friendly gnomes for a very friendly card.
PRODUCT LIST
The Gnomes Dies (not used today) coordinate with three of the four gnome images in the Friendly Gnomes Stamp Set but are not shown in any catalogue. However as I mentioned they’ve recently come back into stock and are available through my online store while supplies last.
