Today’s simple Sunday project features the retiring Accented Blooms Stamp Set. I love the large floral image that includes space for the sentiment. You could opt to use one of the sentiments in the set or an alternative one from elsewhere.
Today I chose to stamp my sentiment directly into the space on the image. If you’re not feeling brave you can also stamp it onto a separate piece of card and cut it out with the coordinating Tailored Tag Punch.

ACCENTED BLOOMS
I began this project with the intention of making it in pastel shades and that influenced my choice of ink pad. Instead of Tuxedo Black I selected Smoky Slate, which resulted in an image with a much softer outline to colour. I stamped the main image onto Whisper White Card and then set to work with my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
TIP – While many people use Tuxedo Black to stamp images to colour with Stampin’ Blends, it’s not your only choice. All 50 colours of Classic Stampin’ Pads from Stampin’ Up! can be used to stamp images that won’t bleed when coloured with alcohol markers.
I selected a variety of Stampin’ Blends for today’s project. In the end I used light and dark combos of Purple Posy, Mint Macaron, Petal Pink, So Saffron, Pool Party and lastly Soft Sea Foam.
Then going back to the Smoky Slate ink pad I added the “Always thinking of you” sentiment in the space.
SOFT LAYERS
With the image complete I then looked for a coordinating colour for the mat layer.
I decided on Petal Pink and after cutting the card, mounted the stamped piece onto it using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next came the Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon. The size of the main panel meant that there wasn’t a lot of room and I didn’t feel like tying a bow. Instead I took a small piece of the ribbon and cut a V shape at each end. The only problem was, when I put the panel and ribbon together it just seemed ‘off’.

So going back to my card supplies I cut a second, slightly larger mat layer from Soft Sea Foam Card. Once again using liquid glue I mounted the stamped panel onto the mat. Then I folded the ribbon and fixed that to the back so the tails peeked out from the bottom. That was much better and finally I was ready to put my project together.
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base. Then using liquid glue I added the assembled layers to the front.
Going back to the Accented Blooms Stamp Set I chose the small ornate image. Next with Smoky Slate ink I stamped the image in the centre at the top of a Whisper White Card layer. Then using liquid glue I fixed the layer inside the card base.
Finally I stamped the small image in the centre of the flap on a Whisper White Medium Envelope. My pastel Accented Blooms project was now complete.
