Oh I can’t tell you how lovely it is to be back in my craft studio. After almost 4 months away, I get to play with some favourite products, as well as the few new ones I had while in the UK. Today I fancied a little painting and immediately reached for the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set. With some ink pads and Water Painters it didn’t take me long to create this pretty “Thinking of you” card.

BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS SCENE
My card started with the two girls from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set. As I knew I was going to be mixing the ink with water I opted for Shimmery White Card. I didn’t really think of the size of the card, it was just a random piece I had in my scraps. So using StazOn Jet Black ink (because it’s waterproof) I stamped the image in the bottom left corner.
Next I needed to choose my colours starting with Pale Papaya for the sand. With the ink pad closed I pressed onto the top, then when I opened it some ink had transferred from the pad to the inside of the lid. Now I could use the lid as a palette by mixing in a drop of water from my Water Painter.
After painting the ‘sand’ across the bottom of the card I then chose Granny Apple Green for the buckets. After that came the girls dresses, one in Gorgeous Grape and one in Bermuda Bay. For their hair I used Cinnamon Cider, and finished off by painting their skin in Blushing Bride.
After waiting a minute or two for the ink to dry I then went back and added some more ink over the top.
With that done I used StazOn Jet Black ink to stamp the birds image in the top left corner. Then I completed the panel by stamping the “Thinking of You” sentiment (also from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set).
SIMPLE LAYERS
While the panel was drying I set to work creating the layers I’d need to put the card together.
Using my Paper Trimmer I began by cutting and scoring a piece of Bermuda Bay Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Then I went back to the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set and the image of the two girls. This time after inking up the stamp I stamped-off onto some scrap paper to remove a little of the ink. Then I stamped the image in the bottom left corner of the Basic White layer. This piece was for the inside of the card base and I fixed it in place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

While I had the stamp and StazOn Jet Black ink pad close by I decided to decorate my Basic White Medium Envelope next. As before, after inking up the stamp I stamped off first and then stamped it on the front of the envelope.
Now I just needed a couple more pieces of card.
First I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Pale Papaya Card and fixed it across the front of the card base with liquid glue.
Next I cut a 3-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ piece of Basic Black Card. Then using liquid glue I mounted my painted panel onto the card. Finally I attached the assembled panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In no time at all my simple project was complete.
There’s something about the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set that keeps me coming back for more. I’m so glad that it made it into the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue for another year.
