It’s Family Day in Nova Scotia and I knew exactly what I wanted to make for you today. Family to me means making memories and I love to be able to look back on them. While photos on a phone or other device might be convenient for many, I still love to see some of these special moments printed out and I can’t be the only one who feels this way. So here’s an idea for a simple pocket photo album cover.

COLLECT BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS
This scene was created using the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set and a little sponging and colouring.
I began with an uninspiring 4″ x 6″ pocket photo album purchased at the Dollar Store. I removed the covers and cut new ones from Very Vanilla Card so I could decorate them.
Rather than explain the process for creating the scene, I made this short video for you.
As you can see from the video, I didn’t stress too much about the sponging or colouring. This was more about creating a feeling, and letting the two figures in the scene draw you in. I think I achieved that aim.
Now all I need to do is fill it with beautiful moments to turn that boring album into something to treasure.

For more about the bookmark shown in the video see my blog post Summer scene in the middle of winter.
Whatever you have planned I hope you’re able to find a few beautiful moments today.
