There are some stamp sets that I seem to be addicted to and use over and over again. Others I buy because they have a specific use. Take the Days To Remember Stamp Set which is great for memory keeping. However today’s project features the Best Family Ever Stamp Set. This contains some regular sentiments (although I already have lots of those) but what drew me to this set was the variety of relationship sentiments like daughter, brother, husband etc. Perfect for turning a handmade project into something very personal.

FAMILY PRIDE
Sadly my own Mum died many years ago, but I created this bookmark for my amazing daughter (and mother of my three granddaughters).
I began by cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Basic White Card. Then from the Fresh As A Daisy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I chose the small white daisy pattern. After cutting a piece 2″ x 5-1/2″ I mounted it onto the card strip using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I added a hole at one end using the slot option on the Very Best Trio Punch. Then I cut a 6″ piece of Wild Wheat twine from the 2023-2025 In Color® Jute Trim pack. After folding it in half, I poked the loop through the slot, before threading the cut ends through the loop and pulling gently to secure it in place.
Now I was ready for the Best Family Stamp Set and picked out two stamps “best ever” and “MUM”. Using Pebbled Path ink I stamped the two sentiment in a block on a scrap of Thick Basic White Card. This was really easy as the stamp set is made from a high grade, see-through photopolymer. Then I went looking for a suitable die to cut out the words.

I found exactly what I needed in the All That Dies. The sentiment fitted perfectly inside the oval die that also embossed a subtle border. But then I saw two small banner dies and had an idea. I used one of them to cut a pair of straight banners from a scrap of Lemon Lolly Card. Using liquid glue I fixed the banner pieces to the back of the die-cut sentiment. Finally I added the assembled piece to the flowery background and my special gift was complete.
With an almost teenage daugher, twin 2 year-old girls, and two teenage step-sons, my daughter really has her hands full. Hopefully when she’s able to grab some quiet time for herself she’ll be reminded how proud I am of her and everything she does.
