Happy Sunday! A few days ago I created a bold birthday card using the O Holy Night 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). It was a design that used just a 6” x 6” piece of paper to decorate the front and inside of the card, along with the envelope. When I was done I had a few scraps of DSP left over so decided to use the largest of these and the same Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set to create today’s simple Sunday project, a coordinating gift tag.

LAYERED FOR SIMPLICITY
I began with the leftover 1-3/4″ x 3″ piece of O Holy Night DSP. First I cut a 2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Copper Clay Card. Then I mounted the DSP on top using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow), leaving an even border on all sides.
Next I noticed a 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Early Espresso Card on my desk. It was other other half of the piece I’d used as a contrasting layer on my card front. Today I decided it would be perfect to use as a big tag base. So I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the layered DSP and included one near the top edge in the centre. Then I cut 8″ of Copper Clay twine from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim pack and tied the ends in a simple knot. With that done I tucked the loop of the twine around the centred Stampin’ Dimensional. Finally, holding the twine carefully in place, I fixed the layers to the tag base. This method provides a simple way to tie the tag to a gift without needing to use a punch or die to create a hole!
TIP: To make sure it really coordinates with the card check the direction of the pattern before attaching the DSP to the tag base!
CELEBRATE AGAIN
Now I was ready for some stamping and it was back to the Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set. Still using what was on my desk I picked up the bold “Happy birthday’ sentiment and Early Espresso ink pad. I found a scrap of Very Vanilla Card and cut it to 1″ x 2-1/2” before stamping the sentiment in the centre. Then I fixed that on top of the DSP background with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

It was only at this point that I noticed a previously unused stamp in the Celebrate with Tags set, a bold “To: From: “. So I cut a 1-3/4″ x 3” piece of Very Vanilla Card and stamped that sentiment with Early Espresso ink too. Then using liquid glue I added this piece to the back of the tag in the centre.
Finally, going back to the tag front I had one last detail to add, some Copper Clay embellishments from the 2023-2025 In Color Dots pack. Taking my inspiration from the original birthday card, I placed two dots in a line below the bottom right corner of the layered DSP. With that done this week’s simple Sunday project was complete.
