On my Papercraft With Me Facebook page the other day I mentioned that even though I design almost all my own projects I still enjoy playing with project kits. One that I think offers great value for money is the Christmas Gifting Kit. At first glance it looks like a kit to make 9 jumbo gift tags. However also included in the box are 9 pockets that are perfectly sized for gift card holders (or Merci chocolate sticks). The question is, do you tie them together, or use them separately?

GIFTING SIMPLICITY
Today I decided to combine the pre-made gift card holder and tag. I began by choosing the large red tag with the tree that pops out from the centre. The hole could then be filled by the green and black plaid gift card holder. All I did was cut 9″ of Shaded Spruce twine from the kit, thread it through the hole at the top of the two pieces and tie it in a simple knot.
Next from the kit I took the green edged sentiment strip and a white card circle along with the Shaded Spruce ink spot. From the included stamp set I started with “Merry Christmas” and stamped that onto the strip. However, before adding the sentiment to the tag I wanted to add a little decorative foliage. There are three different styles and I decided to go with the pine leaves. Then to add a little extra dimension I used a Sponge Dauber to gently tap some Shaded Spruce ink over the Mint Macaron surface.

With that done I used Stampin’ Dimensionals from the kit to attach the pine branch to the back of the sentiment. Then I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the completed sentiment to the tag, taking care to avoid the tree-shaped hole.
On the card circle I used the mini ink spot to stamp “with love”, before fixing it onto the gift card holder with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally from my craft stash I pulled out the Festive Pearls pack. Once I’d added three Cherry Cobbler pearls to the pine branch my tag/gift card holder was complete.
PRODUCT LIST
The Christmas Gifting Kit is completely self-contained. As well as all the prepared card pieces, it also includes the stamp set, mini ink spot and adhesives. There’s even an acrylic block to mount the stamps on. However in case you prefer a full size ink pad or want additional Stampin’ Dimensionals I’ve included them in the list below as well.
