This week we survived a major snowstorm that fizzled out before it actually got to us, although I fear winter isn’t quite done yet. Still, I’ve a spring craft fair coming up in a couple of weeks so I don’t need any other excuse to stay in and craft. Notebooks and notepads are always a popular item and at a Christmas craft fair one customer bought NINE of them! To restock I decided to pull out the Happy Labels Stamp Set and coordinating Happy Labels Pick A Punch and set to work.

PRETTY PRINTS
I began with a pale blue 3″ x 3″ sticky notes pad which inspired a blue colour palette. To cover the pad I cut a 3-1/8″ x 5″ piece of Bermuda Bay Card. Then with the long side at the top I scored it at 3-1/8″ and 3-1/2″. After folding the card along the scored lines I sharpened the creases with a Bone Folder.
At this point I decided that the blue paper of the sticky notes wasn’t quite the right colour. So I pulled out my Bermuda Bay ink pad and using a Blending Brush coloured the sides of the note pad. With that done I wrapped the folded card around the pad and fixed it to the back using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I needed a base and for that I cut a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Bermuda Bay Card and glued a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Coastal Cabana Card on top. Then I mounted the wrapped pad on top of that.
Finally from the Pretty Prints 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) I took one of the Bermuda Bay patterns and cut a piece 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″. Using liquid glue I mounted the paper onto a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Coastal Cabana Card and then added that to the note pad cover.
PICK A PUNCH
I could have left the sticky notes pad as it was but decided to add a sentiment and I knew exactly where to look. From the Happy Labels Stamp Set I selected “just a note” and stamped it onto a 1/2″ x 2-1/2″ strip of Thick Basic White Card using Bermuda Bay ink.

Then I pulled out the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Like the two other Pick A Punches in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue this punch allows me to shape the ends of the card strip with one of two different end designs. Today I went with the tiny scallop.
Next I cut 8″ of Coastal Cabana cord from the Three Twine Combo pack and laid the loops on the top of the note pad cover. Then with some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment I pressed it into place, trapping the twine between them. And just like that my pretty note pad was complete.
If you’ve not noticed the Pick A Punches before do check them out while they are still available. Each punch takes three widths of card strips; 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ and each one has two different ends styles to choose from. As well as the mini scallop, the Happy Labels Pick A Punch can add a postage stamp style end. The Banners Pick A Punch adds a simple point or flag end, while the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch end choices are much more elaborate.
