This week we survived a major snowstorm that fizzled out before it actually got to us, although I fear winter isn’t quite done yet. Still, I’ve a spring craft fair coming up in a couple of weeks so I don’t need any other excuse to stay in and craft. Notebooks and notepads are always a popular item and at a Christmas craft fair one customer bought NINE of them! To restock I decided to pull out the Happy Labels Stamp Set and coordinating Happy Labels Pick A Punch and set to work. PRETTY ... VIEW POST
Greetings, I’m Finally Back!
It’s been forever (well 10 days) since I last posted a project for you, thanks to Hurricane Fiona. She barrelled through overnight on Friday September 23rd and having lost power it was October 2nd before we were finally reconnected. We learned some lessons that we’ll put in place for next time, but we are lucky. Over 21,000 properties in Nova Scotia continue to wait for their power to return. So today I made a simple card using the Go To Greetings Stamp Set just to say I’m thinking of ... VIEW POST
Pretty Prints Scraps Again
Even though I’m designing and making papercraft projects every day things don’t always go according to plan. I can’t tell you how many times a finished project has a poorly stamped image or sentiment on the back of a layer. However I don’t always redo something. For instance, embellishments are a great way to hide smaller ‘accidents’. Today’s tag project ‘do-over’ wasn’t to hide a mistake, just an uneasy feeling that it was somehow ‘unfinished’. Now, more than 10 weeks after starting, I’m ... VIEW POST
Slimline With Pretty Prints
I did it again! I got a new stamp set and dies bundle designed to make one kind of project, and used it to create something completely different. This time it’s the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set and Celebrations Tag Dies. You can probably guess this bundle is designed for making gift tags, however my first project ended up being a slimline masculine birthday card. It was entirely the fault of the bold “happy birthday” sentiment and the label-style dies. That said, I love how quickly this project ... VIEW POST
Summer Meadow
It’s going to be another one of those hot and humid days. With a heat warning in place I’ve just closed up all the windows and drawn the curtains. That should keep the house relatively cool as the temperature begins to climb. Later, once it starts to cool again and the onshore breeze picks up, I’ll open up the house again. In the meantime I shall be mostly crafting. Today’s project was inspired by the pretty butterflies I saw while mowing a path through our flower meadow at the ... VIEW POST
Pretty Prints Pretty Colours
As soon as I saw the Sun Prints 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) I was smitten. I’m quite a fan of blue, and loved the designs which reminded me of school experiments from years back. That pack immediately made it into my first order and I’ve used it quite a bit. So imagine my surprise when I discovered I could get the best designs (in my opinion) from Sun Prints in other colours! Once the Pretty Prints DSP pack arrived I couldn’t wait to make my first project. SAME PRINTS For ... VIEW POST
