Today is going to be one of those relaxing days with nothing important on my to do list. It is Sunday after all. We have quick and easy meals planned, and the only ‘chore’ is a load of washing. As I have machines that do most of the work, I can hardly call that difficult. In fact, so long as I fold it straight from the dryer I’ll not even have to iron it. So my plan is essentially to put my feet up, read a book and maybe do a little colouring. What about you?

REST & RELAX
When I get stressed, I often suffer with a stiff neck so the giraffe image from the Back On Your Feet Stamp Set really called to me. But before getting to him, I needed to create a simple bookmark base.
I opted for a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I shaped the top and added the ribbon slot using the Fancy Tag Topper Punch. With that done I could see how much space I had left for stamping.
I chose “Rest & Relax you deserve it” from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set. Unfortunately while it looked the right size on the stamp case, I’d missed the fact that the images were shown at 90%. So when I went to stamp the sentiment with Tuxedo Black ink it was actually a bit too big. Not to worry, I simply stamped it at the top of the bookmark at an angle. Problem solved.
BACK ON YOUR FEET
I’d already chosen the giraffe image from the Back On Your Feet Stamp Set and that came next. Once again using Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image below the sentiment. Then I set to work colouring the giraffe using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
Today is all about stress-free so I wasn’t even going to worry about blending. Stampin’ Blends are also ideal when I just want a solid, even colour without those lines other markers can leave. I began by colouring in the spots on the giraffe with the dark Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends. Then I used the light Cinnamon Cider marker for his hooves. Next I coloured the rest of the giraffe using the dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.

By this point I loved the bright and cheerful giraffe but he did look as if he were floating in mid-air. So I pulled out the dark and light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. Then I drew some random horizontal lines at the bottom of the bookmark for the ‘ground’. That was much better.
With the colouring complete all I needed was to add some ribbon. I could have chosen Gray Granite 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon but decided on the Cinnamon Cider 1/4″ 2020-2022 In Color® Ribbon instead. I threaded the ribbon through the slot, and then secured it on each side with a single Mini Glue Dot. With that my bookmark was finished and ready for use.
Now to find a good book and put my feet up…
