Once again the weekend disappeared in record time. One of the highlights was being invited to join a small team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to collaborate on a monthly PDF tutorial, featuring alternate projects using the latest Paper Pumpkin kit. I’m grateful that they feel my creativity is worth sharing, and humbled that they sought me out to join their team. I accepted their offer and will now do this alongside my other tutorial collaboration with the monthly IDEAS blog hop. So today this simple kindness sentiment seemed quite appropriate.

GIFT OF KINDNESS
I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Basic White Card. Next from the Kindest Gnomes Stamp set I chose the seated gnome image. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped my gnome near to the left end of the card strip. Then I stamped the sentiment “You’re kindness does not go unnoticed” beside him.
My first colouring medium with this stamp set was watercolour pencils so today I decided to use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. For his hat I chose the deep red of light and dark Cherry Cobbler. His clothes came next in light and dark Old Olive, followed by light Night of Navy on his mittens. Instead of the usual grey I wanted light brown for his beard and went with light and dark Crumb Cake. I also used dark Crumb Cake on the soles of his boots. Finally for his face I used one of the new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends, identified with the code SU900.
With the colouring complete I marked the centre of the right-hand end of the strip with a pencil at 1″. Then I took the Very Best Trio Punch and lined up the mark with the centre line on the ribbon slot option. After punching the hole I angled the corners using another of the options on the Very Best Trio Punch.
Finally I cut two 6″ pieces of Starry Sky 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon and folded them in half. Then I passed the loops through the slot in the card before threading the cut ends through the loops. Once I’d gently pulled the ends to secure the ribbon in place my quick kindness bookmark was complete.
