It’s been a really busy day so far and it’s only 8 o’clock in the morning! Today is the first of three 48 hour Online Extravaganza promotions from Stampin’ Up! with most paper and embellishments from the 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue on sale at 10% off.
So for today’s project I thought I’d create a Christmas card using only annual catalogue products. It wasn’t as hard as you might think…
CARD AND PAPER AT 10% OFF
All the card and paper I used is included in the promotion today and tomorrow.
I started with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card, cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base.
For the background I took the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder and wiped the inside with an Old Olive ink pad. Next I carefully put a layer of Whisper White Card inside the embossing folder and placed it directly onto the multipurpose platform. Then I added a cutting plate on top and ran it through my machine.
When I removed the card, not only was it embossed, but it had a really nice colour too. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the layer to the front of the card base.
My large poinsettia image was cut from a sheet from the Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper (DSP) using Paper Snips.
More of the DSP was attached to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope using liquid glue. Then I cut the DSP following the shape of the flap.
One final 1/2″ strip of the DSP was cut and fixed to the bottom edge of a layer of Whisper White Card. Then the layer was attached to the inside of the card base with liquid glue.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
For the sentiment I started with a piece of Whisper White Card and wiped it using an Embossing Buddy to remove any oils and static. Then using Versamark ink I stamped the Merry Christmas from the Mistletoe Season Stamp Set. Next I sprinkled the sticky ink with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. Once I’d removed a few stray specks I melted the rest of the powder using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Using Tear & Tape Adhesive I fixed the sentiment to a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. Then used liquid glue to attach the edge of my fussy-cut poinsettia to the sentiment. Finally I attached the assembled sentiment to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To add a little extra sparkle I decided to ‘paint’ the large poinsettia using a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.
All that was left was to add a few So Saffron pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls pack and I was done.
ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA
So the only products used for this project that ARE NOT on sale today and tomorrow at 10% off are:
Mistletoe Season Stamp Set – that will be on sale on November 25 and 26.
Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Trimmer, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and Old Olive Ink Pad. These will all be on sale on November 27 and 28.
Sadly the Big Shot, VersaMark Pad and Bone Folder will not be included in the Online Extravaganza at all.
Well that’s it from me for today, I’m off now to play in my craft studio. My parcels of new goodies finally arrived yesterday so it would be rude to ignore them, don’t you think?
