Sentimental Parting

June 9, 2022 Leave a Comment

Even though we’re only just into the second week of the Last Chance promotion with Stampin’ Up! some things have already sold out. As an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I’m able to see the changing stock levels, and many more retiring products are showing as “low inventory”. One of the stamp sets that’s almost gone is Sentimental Swirls. I especially like this set for the decorative swirls which gives the stamp set its name. So today I couldn’t resist making one final project using heat embossing and the largest image.

Create this gold and vanilla "For you" gift tag using the Sentimental Swirls Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! #papercraftwithme

SENTIMENTAL & ROMANTIC

I love the graceful lines of the large swirl image and that really affected all my choices for this gift tag. So I began by choosing the largest fancy-topped die from the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I love the line of faux stitching around the edge of this die and cut two tags from Very Vanilla Card. I set one of the tags aside for a minute while I decorated the other.

From the Sentimental Swirls Stamp Set I took that big image and stamped it onto the second tag using VersaMark ink. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with gold powder from the Metallics Stampin’ Emboss Powder pack. After tapping off the excess powder I removed a few stray specks, then melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).

With that done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to fix the two tag pieces together back-to-back. Then I threaded 4″ of gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon through the hole and secured it in place with a Mini Glue Dot.

All I needed now was a sentiment and I chose the simple “for you” sentiment from the same stamp set. Using VersaMark ink I stamped it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card before heat embossing it in gold.

Once the embossing had cooled I cut out the sentiment using the smallest (#1) plain-edged die from the Layering Circles set. Then using the next size up I die-cut a scrap of Gold Foil sheet. Finally I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount the sentiment onto the gold foil and then added it to the tag base. And just like that my project was complete.

I love the simple lines of this tag that’s made special with the addition of some gold foil and embossing. I hope you like it as much as I do.
