What is it about daisies that make me want to smile? Whether it’s a tiny daisy in the lawn, or a big bright gerbera I simply love them. I suppose that’s why I love the Daisy Delight and Daisy Lane Stamp Sets from Stampin’ Up! Of course the fact that there are now two different sized coordinating daisy punches doesn’t hurt either.
Today’s simple Sunday project is a sweet and sunny daisy bookmark, with a little extra on the side…

BASIC BOOKMARK BASE
I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Whisper White Card shaped at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
Then using Mossy Meadow ink I stamped the “The best moments in my life happen with you sentiment” from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set in the bottom right corner. After that I stamped the long stem beside it using Pear Pizzazz ink.
TIP – When space is tight I generally stamp the sentiment first, then fit the images around it. Having a bit of a leaf missing is definitely preferable to cutting off part of a word.
BRIGHT YELLOW DAISY
Next I stamped the large daisy flower twice onto Whisper White Card using the very bright Pineapple Punch ink. Then I punched them out with the coordinating Daisy Punch.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the two daisies together so the lower petals showed between the upper ones. With that done I used more liquid glue to attach the assembled daisy to the bookmark. I had originally planned to trim off the petals level with the edge of the bookmark, but decided to leave them.
Finally I threaded a length of Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon through the slot at the top of the bookmark. Then once I tied it in a simple knot my simple Sunday project was complete.
After I finished the bookmark I could help but wonder whether I should have sponged a little blue ink over the bookmark before adding the flower. Oh well, that’s the beauty of papercrafting, I can always make another.

SEPTEMBER PAPER PUMPKIN KIT
Today we got our first clues to the September 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit. It will contain 20 Halloween-themed food-safe gift boxes. I’ve noticed that while not everyone is into Halloween, the kits can sell out before the end of the subscription period. This is because those that are, often order additional boxes.

So if you definitely want the September kit, please subscribe now to make sure that you don’t miss out. If you’re unsure, subscribe anyway and if you don’t like the kit when it arrives, simply tell Stampin’ Up! If you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin through me, you can let me know and I’ll contact them on your behalf.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS & CLARIFICATION – I purchased the Daisy Lane Stamp Set with one of the coordinating punches (Medium Daisy Punch). This meant that I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. However the punch I used for today’s project is the larger Daisy Punch which also coordinates with that stamp set.
Both the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch coordinate with the Daisy Delight Stamp Set too.
Tracy, do you know anybody who DOESN’T at least LIKE (if not LOVE) daisies … could it possibly be because they are just simply beautiful in all of their various forms, or that they hearken back to earliest childhood days of daisy chains, and discovering if “he loves me, he loves me not?”, or the first time we wore a “crown” of daisies circling our hair? … association plays a big roll I suspect, but at the end of the day, they’re just perfectly pretty & delightful sights to behold and the sentiment on your bookmark this morning is perfectly suited to this iconic floral image. Yay! Stampin’ Up for bringing us the Medium Daisy stamp ‘n punch duo!
Thank you Geraldine, yes having two daisy punches and sets of images creates so many more possibilities
