Yesterday I was distracted by my garden. I was supposed to be cleaning my craft studio and as I looked out the window I saw purple. So I decided to wander out to our back field, camera in hand. The grass at that end of our property is tall and was still wet from the morning fog, but I wasn’t going to be deterred. Instead I was rewarded with a sea of wonderful lupins. They immediately inspired me to create this “thinking of you” card using the Dainty Delight Dies.

DAINTY FLOWERS
When I first saw the odd almost conical abstract shape in the Dainty Delight Dies I really wasn’t sure what it was supposed to be. Today I realised that it would be perfect for my lupin inspired card. So taking my cue from the garden I chose Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Bubble Bath Card. I sat and die cut lots of pieces, collecting them in a little bowl on my desk.
Then for the leaves I chose Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. These I cut out using two small dies, each one cutting two individual leaves with each pass through my machine. Finally I die-cut a stack of stalks from Garden Green Card.

With a good pile of die-cut pieces in my bowl, I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ layer of Very Vanilla Card for the background. Then using a Blending Brush I covered the surface with a light layer of Starry Sky ink.
From there I simply began layering stalks, flowers and leaves together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Of course it would probably have been easier to cover the card pieces with Adhesive Sheet before die-cutting, but it was too late by then! Once I was happy with the flowers I filled in the blank area at the bottom using a Blending Brush and Garden Green ink.
WONDERFUL THOUGHTS
Now I turned to the sentiment-only Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. I chose the elegant “Thinking of you” and stamped it onto some Very Vanilla Card with Gorgeous Grape ink. Then I cut it out using the smallest of the ‘rectangle’ dies in the Something Fancy Dies set. From there everything came together quite quickly.

Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some Gorgeous Grape Card for my card base, Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Highland Heather Card and glued the lupin scene on top. Then using Stampin’ Dimensionals I added the sentiment to the scene, before using more to mount the assembled layers onto the card front.
For the inside of the card I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then I simply covered the surface with a light layer of Starry Sky ink using a Blending Brush before gluing into place. After colouring the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope with Starry Sky ink to match, my project was complete.

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – The Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set is available by itself, or with coordinating dies (not used today) as part of the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. What’s really interesting is that 14 of the dies are designed to cut neatly around the 14 sentiments in the stamp set. Plus there’s five other decorative dies. However if you want both items you’ll save 10% if you order them using the single ‘bundle’ item number. I’ve included links to both options below so you can compare these if you wish.

Thank you Marty
Beautiful lupin. Your card reflects their beauty. Your garden must be quite a delight.
Thank you Jan. The wildflower meadow behind the house is still a work in progress but it definitely makes me smile.
