One of the fondest memories I have from my childhood is our visits to see Grandma. She and Grandpa only lived about 18 miles away, but when you had no car getting there wasn’t so easy. So when we were able to visit it was always a big event. Best clothes, and definitely best behaviour. I loved the look of their little maisonette, which was full of photos and trinkets and memories. The walls and furnishings weren’t threadbare, but everything felt cosy and lived-in, if that makes sense.
The patterns and colours in the Woven Threads 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) reminds me of that time. So when I sat down to decorate a mini photo album for a Grandma it was the first thing that came to mind.

WOVEN THREADS
I began with a 4″ x 6″ pocket photo album that I found in my local Dollarstore and removed cover inserts. Then I cut two pieces of Whisper White Card to replace the covers.
Next from the Woven Threads DSP I cut two identical pieces and fixed them to my white covers using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I slid one of the layered pieces into the pocket for the back over of the album.
For the front cover I then took a brighter piece from the Woven Threads DSP and glued that to some Whisper White Card. Then I added that to the centre of my front cover piece and set it aside.
GRANDMA
With the cover prepared, I then set to work making the accent layers for the photo album.
I found the “Every time a baby is born, so is a Grandma” sentiment in the Grandma’s House Stamp Set. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Card then mounted it onto Terracotta Tile Card with liquid glue.

My Grandma image actually comes from the On To Adventure Stamp Set and was stamped onto another piece of Whisper White Card. Then I set to work colouring her in using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
By the time I’d finished I’d used light and dark combos in Rococo Rose, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Petal Pink and Crumb Cake. For her glasses however I used the writing tip of a Seaside Spray Stampin’ Write Marker from the 2019-2021 InColors.
Once I’d finished colouring I used liquid glue to mount Grandma onto a piece of Terracotta Tile Card.
All that was left was to use more liquid glue to add Grandma and the sentiment to the prepared front cover piece. Then once I’d slipped the completed cover into the front pocket of the album I was done.
