Sorry for the late blog post, my internet has been cutting in and out all morning again! This meant a call to my provider and a switch to a “less congested channel”. Obviously everyone’s surfing the internet this Labour Day. Anyway, today I have a two-for-one Holiday Catalogue sneak peek using the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set.

ALL IN THE PREPARATION
Both tags were created using the same technique and it’s one I love.
First I stamped the holly and ornament images onto Window Sheet using StazOn Jet Black ink. Once I’d stamped them I put a little sticker on the sheet so I would know which side had been stamped. Then I set the Window Sheet aside so the ink could dry fully.
TIP – To stop the stamp from sliding on the Window Sheet use the Stamparatus stamp positioning platform so you can stamp down cleanly.
While the StazOn was drying I prepared my 3″ x 3″ folded tag bases using Thick Whisper White Card. To keep things neat I used the oval hole option on the Detailed Trio Punch to add a hole at the back of the tag.
Next, using Rich Razzleberry ink I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set onto a strip of Thick Whisper White Card. Then without reinking it I stamped the sentiment again on another strip. With that done I cut around the edge of both sentiments using my Paper Snips.
GLITTER BACKED IMAGES
When I was sure the StazOn ink was dry I could get to work colouring in the images. This was where that sticker came in. I began by placing the Window Sheet so the sticker was facing down and I could be sure I was looking at the non-stamped side of the Window Sheet.
Then I coloured in the images using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
TIP – Stampin’ Blends are alcohol markers and so would interact with the alcohol-based StazOn. This is why it is so important to colour on the non-stamped side of the Window Sheet.

For the ornament I first coloured the top with the light Mango Melody. Then I went over it with the dark one. Next came the light Rich Razzleberry all over the body of the ornament. Finally I went around the ‘frame’ of each little section with the dark Rich Razzleberry.
For the holly image I coloured the leaves with the light and then dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends. The berries were done using the light and dark Poppy Parade.
With the images done I placed Mini Glue Dots on the coloured side of the Window Sheet and fixed it to some Silver Glimmer Paper. Then I cut around the image and Glimmer Paper using Paper Snips.

FINAL ASSEMBLY
I was now ready to assemble my two tags.
Starting with the ornament I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach it to the centre of one of the tag bases. Then I added the lighter sentiment across the middle of the ornament using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the holly tag I used liquid glue to fix the darker sentiment to the towards the bottom of the tag front. Then I attached the holly image slightly overlapping it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
That just left the Whisper White Baker’s Twine that I threaded through the holes at the back of the tags and tied with a simple knot.
I love how such a simple technique can create stunning effects. If you can colour and cut out an image you can do this. Just one point to note, there is a punch that coordinates with the ornament image I used, however it will not cut through the window sheet. This is why I cut the shape out by hand.
CHRISTMAS GLEAMING STAMP SET
The Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set is part of the Brightly Gleaming Suite on pages 30 to 33 of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.
Also included in the suite is a pack of two punches that coordinate with the two ornaments in the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set. The smaller punch also coordinates with another stamp set, Memories of Home. You’ll be able to buy the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set and Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack by themselves, or in a bundle which will save you 10%. Make sure you check this out on September 4th when they become available for customers to purchase.
In the meantime here’s a look at the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set.

So that’s it from me for today. I hope you’ll join me again tomorrow for my final sneak peek from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue and a DSP promotion you won’t want to miss.
