Right now it seems like we’re having a snow storm every couple of days and today there’s another one. We’ve been more fortunate than Newfoundland, but it’s still a pain to shovel. We’d be crazy to start moving the snow while it’s still coming down so instead I spend the time tucked up in my studio.
I’m trying to be good by doing some reorganisation in the room between making projects. It’s hard not to be distracted when you ‘rediscover’ things you’d forgotten you had. What I also discovered was a project originally made during my personal World Cardmaking Day challenge in October. So before I add it to my box of cards to sell I thought I should show you card 17 of the 24 I made over a 24 hour period.

OH SO SIMPLE BACKGROUND
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base.
Next I chose a simple Smoky Slate diamond design from the Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. To get all the pieces I needed from a single sheet I first cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ strip. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached the strip to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. With that done I cut the DSP to shape with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
For the inside of the card I cut a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the DSP. Then I glued this down the right-hand edge of a layer of Whisper White Card before adding it to the inside of the card base.
Now I was ready to cut a layer of Basic Gray Card a little wider than the DSP I had left. After trimming to 5-1/2″ high I mounted the DSP onto the card with liquid glue then attached it to the card front.

CRAZY TO WORK HERE
For my sentiment I turned to the Welcome To The Team Stamp Set and the “crazy to work here” phrase.
Using Basic Gray ink I stamped the sentiment onto some Thick Whisper White Card. Then beneath that I added the “we’ll train you” phrase. With that done I punched out the sentiment using the Timeless Label Punch.
Finally, to add a little “crazy” interest I created some random loops of Silver Metallic Thread. Then I held them in place on the back of the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals before flipping it over and attaching the completed sentiment to the card.
You’ll find some more of my projects using the Welcome To The Team Stamp Set in these earlier blog posts:
