I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, stamp sets that have only sentiments or only images are very freeing. When I pick up these sets there are no preconceived ideas about how I should use the stamps. Today I grabbed the Happy Labels Stamp Set which has 12 large sentiments. Interestingly this set is available in both cling-mount rubber and see-through photopolymer. Personally I went for the photopolymer version as it makes it much easier to see where I’m stamping. Then all I needed was a suitable image…

KOALA HUGS
I began by choosing the “I just want to hug you” sentiment from the the Happy Labels Stamp Set. Using Basic Gray ink I stamped it at the bottom of a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Basic White Card.
Then from the Count On Me stamp set I chose the two hugging koalas and stamped them above the words. I quickly coloured them using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in light and dark Smoky Slate.
After that I stamped the koalas on the front of a Basic White Medium Envelope, and in the bottom right corner of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White Card. Once I’d coloured these extra images I was ready to create the card.
First I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Basic Gray Card. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the larger of the two white layers on the inside of the card base.
Now I needed a 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ piece of Smoky Slate Card and glued the remaining Basic White layer on top.

Before adding the layers to the card front I decided to add a little detail. So from the Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I chose the Basic Gray spotty design. I cut a 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ strip and glued that up against the crease on the card base. Then I added the layered piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.
It was only afterwards I realised that the sentiment could have many different meanings. This could be a Valentine, a card to show support, or a thank you. It all depends on what you write (or stamp) on the inside. What other reasons might you have to to send someone a hug?

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Happy Labels Stamp Set together with the coordinating Happy Labels Pick-A-Punch (not used today). This amazing punch can cut strips of card in three different widths along with your choice of two different end designs. Using the single “bundle” item number when I ordered meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying these two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore this option.
RUBBER OR PHOTOPOLYMER OPTIONS – My product list links to the photopolymer version of the Happy Labels Stamp Set. So here are the links to the Happy Labels Cling (red rubber) Stamp Set and coordinating Happy Labels Cling Bundle in case you’d prefer these.
