While I sometimes think I have enough floral stamp sets, I don’t think that I’ve ever thought I’d got all the sentiments I want or need. So I’m especially drawn to sentiment only stamp sets, even more so when they can also be used inside cards. So it was with the new Happy Thoughts Stamp Set.
Happy Thoughts contains seven large sentiments covering birthday, thank you, congratulations and thinking of you. What’s more the font used is clean and timeless so it’s definitely worth looking at. Today’s simple Sunday project showcases two of the sentiments in basic black and white.

SIMPLE STRIPES
I began my project with a piece of Basic Black Card cut and scored using my Paper Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I turned to the True Love 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. This is a collection of black and white designs in a variety of floral and graphic patterns. Today I chose a very striking striped pattern suitable for masculine and gender neutral cards.
First I cut a piece 2-1/4″ x 6″ and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach it to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Then with my Paper Snips I trimmed off the excess using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a piece 2″ x 5-1/4″ and glued that to the front of the card base. Then I folded a piece of 3/8″ Fine Art Ribbon and attached it to the centre of the card with Mini Glue Dots. With that I was ready to work on my sentiments.
HAPPY THOUGHTS
From the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set I first chose “Thinking of you”. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it onto a scrap Thick Whisper White Card. Then I punched it out with the Timeless Label Punch.

Next I added three Matte Black Dots around the sentiment. Then I finished the card front by fixing the sentiment over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
TIP – I generally use Thick Whisper White Card for my sentiments if they’re not going to be mounted onto another piece of card. This is because the thick card is less likely to buckle when popped up on Dimensionals.
Now the front was complete I had just one last thing to do.
Going back to the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set I chose “Just wanted to send some happy thoughts your way”. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White Card. Then using liquid glue I added the layer to the inside of the card base. In no time at all I was finished.
I love how this project turned out. It’s very striking in black and white, but imagine the same layout with a different patterned paper, or in bright colours. There’s so many possibilities with the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set, I have a feeling it will get a lot of use.

A very classic look, Tracy. I love the fonts in those sentiments too,
Thank you Pam
