Because the Stampin’ Up! Last Chance List is extensive it takes me a while to get my head around it. After printing the list I go through my current catalogue page by page marking the items that are retiring. This helps me spot things I still want before they’re sold out. After that I compare the old and new catalogues to confirm what’s carrying over. That’s how I noticed the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder wasn’t in either category! In fact it’s still available, but now as an Online Exclusive.

I love the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder but thought of it as an “autumn” product. However it didn’t have to be. So today I decided to using on a much more spring-like project. I actually started to make a folded gift tag but changed my mind about half-way through and made a get well card instead.
HAND-PENNED & PRETTY
I began with the retiring Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and a Tuxedo Black ink pad. First I cut a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Basic White Card and stamped the “feel better friend” sentiment in the top right corner. Then I stamped the large two-flower image in the remaining space.
To colour I used Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers; Granny Apple Green on the leaves and Fresh Freesia for the petals. Finally I coloured the centre of the open flower with light Daffodil Delight.
With that done I cut a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Fresh Freesia Card and mounted the stamped piece on top using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
For my tag base I reached for a piece of Granny Apple Green Card from my scrap pocket. My plan was to cut and score this to make a 3″ x 3″ folded gift tag base. However I loved the colour combination so much I decided to use the Granny Apple Green as a layer on an A2 card base. So instead I trimmed the Granny Apple Green Card to 2-3/8″ x 5-1/2″.
LEAF FALL EMBOSSING
I could have left the card as it was but that’s when I remembered the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder and placed it into the embossing folder at an angle to make the most of the leaf design.
For my card base I wanted to have a fresh feel so I chose Thick Basic White Card. After cutting and scoring the card, I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.

Next I cut a 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Fresh Freesia Card and, lining up the left edges, I mounted the embossed layer on top using liquid glue. Then I glued the layers to the card base up against the fold. With that done I added my assembled sentiment piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Now I just needed to decorate the inside of the card and envelope. Instead of using the stamp image I decided to have the embossing as my coordinating feature. First I embossed the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. After cutting a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card I embossed just a 1″ strip down the right hand side. Then using liquid glue I fixed the embossed white layer inside my card base. And just like that my project was complete.
I love this fresh colour combination and am so glad that instead of being retired along with the other 2021-2023 In Colors, Fresh Freesia is becoming one of the core colours in the Stampin’ Up! range. I was also right about that Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder, it really is perfect for any season. Have you bought yours yet?
