It’s no secret that I love daisies. They’re simple and uncomplicated and just make me smile. But while I was really sad when Stampin’ Up! retired their two daisy punches they’ve still left me with lots of alternatives. The most obvious one of course is the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set and Dies Bundle. These are big and bold with lots of options for layering. Then there’s the smaller daisy shapes I found in the Dainty Delight Dies. However today’s quick project is all about the very tiny Loose Daisy Embellishments.

DAISY BOUQUET

I began with the Warm Welcome Stamp Set and that disembodied arm holding a bouquet of flowers. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the image onto a 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then I added the “it’s your day” sentiment in the space above.

To colour the image I chose Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, starting with dark and light Flirty Flamingo for the sleeve. Then I switched to Ivory and used it to colour the hand and the bouquet wrapping. After that I went over the bouquet wrapping with the Bronze marker, leaving some of the Ivory showing through. Finally I used light Shaded Spruce to colour the leaves.

Next I put a tiny dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) in the centre of each uncoloured flower and set the piece aside while I made my tag base.

For this I first cut a 2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Shaded Spruce Card and added a hole at the top using the slot option on the Very Best Trio Punch. Then on one side of the tag I glued a 1-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card so there would be somwhere to write. Finally I cut 6″ of Very Vanilla twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and attached it to the tag.

Now I could go back to the bouquet where the liquid glue had partially dried and was now less likely to ooze out from beneath the embellishments. All I had to do was choose 8 of the slightly larger Loose Daisy Embellishments and place each one over a flower on the stamped bouquet. With that done I attached the completed layer to the tag front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.

I love how this simple tag turned out. Those tiny daisy embellishments are amazing, and with 300 in each pack there’s lots more left for me to use!
