Once again I’ve been making non-Christmas projects using some products that are most definitely Christmas themed. It was only after I’d finished that I realised that both the One Happy Family Stamp Set and Christmas Trimmings Dies are from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and will be around for a while yet. In fact only the the Timber 3D Embossing Folder is from the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue, and it’s not retiring. This is fortunate since it’s the first time I’ve used the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and I want to use it much more.

ONE HAPPY FAMILY
As I was searching for inspiration for today’s project I took another look at the One Happy Family Stamp Set. This is a sentiment only set with 18 sentiments that can be used by themselves, or in pairs. I’ve used the “You made a little human” sentiment a few times and a couple of the others too, so today I wanted something different. Once I decided on “I’m so proud of you” everything else just fell into place.
Before I could start cutting any layers I first needed to cut out a gold star which I thought would go well with the sentiment. So from the Christmas Trimmings Dies I took the two medium-sized star dies; one solid one and one fancy one. Before cutting them out I remembered to fix some Adhesive Sheet to the back of some Gold Foil Sheet. Then from this part I cut out the fancy star, while cutting the solid one from foil without the adhesive attached. Finally I removed the backing from the adhesive sheet and mounted the fancy star onto the solid one.
Now I had my focal image I was able to cut the next layer to fit. So from Basic White Card I cut a 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ square. Then using VersaMark ink I stamped “I’m so proud of you” close to the bottom edge. Next I sprinkled the sticky ink with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. Finally, after removing a few stray specks I melted the rest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
With the sentiment done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount the layer onto a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Gold Foil Sheet. Then I added the layered star above the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
TIMBER DETAIL
Right from the beginning I’d planned to make this a ‘clean and simple’ card with lots of white space (literally). So my next job was to use my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Thick Basic White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base.

But then I thought, just because the card has lots of white, doesn’t mean it can’t be interesting. So that’s when I picked up the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and embossed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card.
Using liquid glue I mounted the embossed layer onto the front of the card base. Then I added the focal piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
All I had left to do was the inside of the card and envelope and for that I went back to the Christmas Trimmings Dies. On my desk I found pieces of gold foil left over from cutting the main stars and from these scraps I die-cut two tiny stars.
Using liquid glue I attached one star to the middle of the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card and glued the second star in the centre near the top. Finally I fixed the white layer inside the card base and my project was complete.
I love how this card turned out, and while the layout is simple the detail on the layered star and the textured background really make this quite special. What do you think?
