Right now I’m in the middle of my personal World Card Making Day challenge. The plan is to design and create from scratch 24 cards in 24 hours, and coordinate the insides of the cards and envelopes too. I started my challenge at 6pm last evening and so have 10 hours left to achieve my goal.
You can follow my progress over on my Facebook page where I’m posting snapshots of the cards as they are completed. Over the coming weeks I’ll take better photos and post each project on my blog with instructions.
Meanwhile, here’s the second card I made for this year’s World Card Making Day Challenge.

SIMPLE LAYERS
As writing this blog is eating into my 24 hours allocated for card making I’ll keep the explanation very simple.
First I cut a piece from the Woven Threads 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach it to a layer of Whisper White Card. Then I glued that to a layer of Seaside Spray Card.
Next I wrapped some Seaside Spray 1/4″ Metallic Ribbon around the layers and secured it on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
With that done I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the layers to a Thick Whisper White Card base.

SENTIMENTS
Both the sentiments for this card come from the Here’s A Card Stamp Set.
On some Whisper White Card I used Seaside Spray ink to stamp “Words cannot express the deep sorrow felt on your behalf”. Then I punched out the sentiment using the Everyday Label Punch. Once I’d added the sentiment over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals, the front of my card was complete.
Next on a layer of Whisper White Card I stamped “May your heart find the peace is needs”. Then I took the long image from the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set and stamped that along the bottom edge. With that done the layer was fixed inside the card base with liquid glue.

Finally I stamped the same long image down the left-hand edge on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. With that my project was complete.
Right, I’m off to make some more cards. Which me luck or send chocolate. Or both.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set in a bundle with the Heirloom Frames Dies & 3D Embossing Folders. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the stamp set and dies/embossing folders separately. Although I only used the stamp set on this card, I’ve included a link to the bundle so you can explore that option if you wish.
Oh my gracious! I don’t think I’d have stopped to even do THIS much, Tracy! So generous of you! Really! We all could’ve lasted one morning surely, without a full Blog! A simple “Good Morning Everyone!” and … “Pushing on. Back tomorrow morning!” At least think about that for next year, okay? LOL You are one very determined lady! More power to you! Glad it’s still feeling like fun though. [P.S. You already have my Good Luck wishes all the way, but by the time you got my chocolate, this would be long over! Even if I’d sent it yesterday or the day before when I ‘discovered’ it was WCMD … sorry! How ’bout I have some for you?! Will that help at all?] 😉
Thank you Geraldine. Sometimes it’s good to stop for a little while to recharge. Still it’s going to be a close thing this year I think.
