When looking through the Stampin’ Up® catalogues I always tend to buy the stamp set & tool bundles I want first. That’s because the bundles are discounted by 10% so it’s a great way to get more for my crafting budget. Of course I mix and match my stamps, dies and punches so bundles give me lots of design flexibility too. Stand-alone stamp sets tend to come further down my wish list as far as ordering goes. So I was delighted to see that tomorrow Stampin’ Up! is offering almost all cling stamp sets in the 2021/2022 Annual Catalogue at 15% off. That includes stamp sets like Positive Thoughts used to create this card…

POSITIVE THOUGHTS
I love the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set and it’s great, even without the coordinating dies. For this card I began with the feather image and two ink pads, Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight.
To get the two-tone effect I inked up the stamp with Balmy Blue ink. Then I tapped a Sponge Dauber onto the Misty Moonlight ink pad and lightly tapped it over the bottom portion of the stamp rubber. After that I breathed on the stamp surface to moisten the ink a little, before stamping the feather in the centre of the flap on a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
I decided I wanted to decorate the inside of my finished card with the same image so I cleaned off the stamp and repeated the inking process. Then I stamped the feather towards the top of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card.

For the card front I cut a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. In the centre of the piece I used a Blending Brush to add a soft area of Balmy Blue ink.
For my sentiment I went back to the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set and chose “Hugs Prayers Love”. Then using Misty Moonlight ink I stamped it in the bottom right corner of the Very Vanilla layer.
QUICK FINISH
The most time-consuming part of the project was done and now I just need a few final pieces.
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some Misty Moonlight Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
On the inside of the card I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the feather stamped piece.
That left just the card front to do. I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Balmy Blue Card and mounted the sentiment layer on top with more liquid glue. Then the assembled layers were added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally I turned to the Nature’s Thoughts Dies and the feather die. I love this die because not only does it cut out the feather, but it adds an embossed detail at the same time. So using the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine I cut the feather from some bronze card from the Brushed Metallic Cardstock pack. Then once I’d added the feather to the card front with liquid glue my project was complete.
Such a simple design but it perfectly accents the message don’t you think?
