After struggling to create a project yesterday I was grateful that today is Sunday. That meant that my regular readers would be expecting a ‘Simple Sunday’ project. I could have pulled out some Designer Series Paper (DSP) for quick and easy background. But instead I decided to look for a stamp image that wouldn’t need anything else. In the end I settled on From All Of Us for a very simple “thanks” card.

FROM ALL OF US
Unsurprisingly this project began with that large image from the From All Of Us Stamp Set.
First I stamped the whole image onto a layer of Very Vanilla Card using Soft Suede ink. Then I stamped just the ostrich head and neck in the bottom right corner of another layer of Very Vanilla Card. Finally I stamped the ostrich head on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
With the images stamped I then turned to the sentiments in the set. On the piece with the whole image I stamped “Thanks” using Soft Suede ink. The other layer of Very Vanilla Card would be used on the inside of my card base so for that I chose “From all of us”.
With the stamping complete I was ready to start some colouring using Stampin’ Blends.
As this was supposed to be a simple card I decided not to do any actual blending. The reason I chose these alcohol markers was because they don’t leave harsh lines when colouring larger areas. All I had to do was colour my stamped images.
For the tortoise I used light and dark Old Olive, dark Flirty Flamingo, plus Bronze and Ivory. The ostrich was mainly light and dark Seaside Spray, with Ivory and light Mango Melody. The bear was mainly light and dark Crumb Cake with a little light Flirty Flamingo. For the monkey I chose light and dark Smoky Slate with light Flirty Flamingo. Finally for the bird I went with light and dark Just Jade with dark Mango Melody for his beak.

To complete the main image I also scribbled some light Smoky Slate over the ‘ground’. This way my collection of colourful critters didn’t look as if they were floating in mid-air.
ALMOST FINISHED THANKS
Finishing off my thanks card took less time than I spent choosing the colours for the images.
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored a piece of Seaside Spray Card. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base.

Next, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the main image to the front. Then after fixing the other Very Vanilla layer to the inside I was done.
I had so much fun with this “Thanks” card project. The images were so easy to colour and I love the expressions on their faces. I can imagine some very funny sentiments accompanied by just the ostrich face, or the turtle come to that. Hmm… maybe I should have a look through some of my other stamp sets for some ideas.
TIP – Did you notice that I didn’t use Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp my images? While many people do use Tuxedo Black when colouring with Stampin’ Blends, it’s not your only choice. You can actually stamp with any of the 50 colours of Classic Stampin’ Pads from Stampin’ Up! Like Tuxedo Black, images stamped using these ink pads will give you images that won’t bleed when coloured with alcohol markers. Why not give it a try?
