Just in case you were wondering… it’s still 134 days until Christmas. I’ve made a couple of cards already, but there’s still so much summer and autumn crafting left to do. However if the colour scheme on today’s card is anything to go by, I’m pretty sure that Christmas is on my mind. This week’s simple Sunday project was created using the Courage & Faith Stamp Set. It features a favourite floral image from the set, together with a Bible quotation from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, all in red and green.

COURAGE & FAITH FLOWERS
I began with the two flowery branches from the Courage & Faith Stamp Set and an Early Espresso ink pad.
I cut two 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of Very Vanilla Card and also grabbed a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. On one of the Very Vanilla card pieces I stamped the left curving image in the bottom right corner. Then I stamped the image in the bottom right corner on the front of the envelope. Finally I stamped the image on the second Very Vanilla layer, in the centre, and 1/4″ from the right-hand edge. After picking up the right curving image I stamped that 1/4″ from the left edge of the second Very Vanilla layer (level with the first image).
Now all I had to do was colour in all four stems using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. First I coloured in the ‘flowers’ using dark Cherry Cobbler. Then I coloured all the leaves with the light Shaded Spruce marker. That’s it. No special blending techniques required.
For my A2 card base I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Cherry Cobbler Card. Then with the long side at the top I used the scoring blade to score the card at 4-1/4″.
After folding the card along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Next I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the first Very Vanilla layer (with one branch) on the inside of the card base. Then I used more liquid glue to attach the remaining Very Vanilla layer to the front of the folded card.
GIVE THANKS
This just left the sentiment to do and I started by cutting a 1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then from the Courage & Faith Stamp Set I chose the tall “in everything give thanks” quotation and stamped it in the middle of the Very Vanilla strip using Cherry Cobbler ink.

To add contrast I cut a 1-3/8″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Cherry Cobbler Card and glued the sentiment strip to it. Then from the Classic Matte Dots I chose one large and two small Very Vanilla embellishments and added them in a line below the stamped sentiment.
Finally I attached the assembled sentiment to the centre of the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my simple Sunday card was complete. I hope you like it.
