Oh how quickly the weather changes. These past few mornings have started out quite foggy and there’s a definite chill in the air. Autumn is just around the corner, but I’m not ready to give warmer temperatures just yet. Likewise, as summer draws to a close so does Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration promotion. However you still have until Wednesday to earn free exclusive products with a qualifying order. So today I decided my project should feature the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper available as part of the free Wonderful World bundle.

WONDERFUL DESIGNS
I still can’t believe that I initially didn’t want the Wonderful World Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper (DSP) bundle. Even if is was available for free. What was I thinking?! This paper is so pretty that a project needs very little extra. Today I chose a pretty floral design with a pale pink background to create a multi-occasion card.
I began my project by cutting a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece of the DSP. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached it to the flap of a Basic White Envelope. Then with my Paper Snips I trimmed off the excess paper using the edge of the flap as a guide.
From the colours used on the paper I decided on Rich Razzleberry for my card base and ink colour. So next, using my Paper Trimmer, I cut and scored some Rich Razzleberry Card. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Going back to the DSP I cut a piece 4-1/4″ x 6″, then trimmed 1/2″ off one end and cut that strip down to 4″ high. Then using liquid glue I fixed the small strip down the right-hand edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Finally I glued the assembled layer inside the card base.
Turning back to the remaining piece of DSP I cut it in two so one piece was 1-1/2″ wide and the other 4″. Now for the clever part, I glued both pieces onto the front of the card base. First I attached the larger piece with the floral side on the right. Then I flipped over the smaller piece and attached it so the more graphic pattern was on the left. One sheet of DSP, giving me two patterns and perfect coordination.
QUICK FINISH
All I needed now was a few simple finishing touches, starting with a sentiment.
While the DSP comes as part of a bundle with the Wonderful World Stamp Set, this set contains no sentiments. So instead I reached for the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set and chose “It’s your time to be remembered, to feel appreciated, and to know you’re celebrated”.

Using Rich Razzleberry ink I stamped the sentiment onto some Basic White Card. Then I punched it out using the Label Me Lovely Punch, before adding to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I was almost done, but thought that the join between the two pieces of DSP looked a little unfinished. So I turned to my Rich Razzleberry Card scraps and found a 1/4″ strip. After cutting it down to 4-1/4″ long I glued it down the right-hand edge of the graphic strip of DSP. That was so much better.
Finally I added a column of three medium Pearl Basic Jewels towards the top of the narrow card strip and my card was finally complete.
Once again this card shows that when you have pretty paper you really don’t need a lot of fancy techniques. What do you think?
