Yesterday was glorious with temperatures in the double digits and wall-to-wall sunshine. Last week’s snow melted away, and we finally had a little spring sneak peek. Today however is a different day, and as this is Nova Scotia winter hasn’t finished with us quite yet. Today’s forecast includes six hours of ice pellets and freezing rain. That won’t be fun, as thick ice coating the trees and power lines has the potential to knock out the power. So while I finish preparations for that, here’s a stylish masculine birthday card.

STARTING IN NEUTRAL
For this card I decided on a neutral gray and black colour palette. I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Basic Black Card for my card base. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic Gray Card and attached it up against the fold using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). On top of that I glued a 2-3/4″ 5-1/2″ piece of the Smoky Slate plaid pattern from the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.
With that done I was ready to begin stamping with the car image and “happy birthday to a classic” sentiment from the He’s All That Stamp Set.
First, using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the combined image and sentiment onto a scrap of Smoky Slate Card. Next, after inking up the stamp again, I covered the words on the rubber stamp with pieces of sellotape. That allowed me to stamp just the car in the centre of the flap on a Basic White Medium Envelope.
Finally, with a Basic Black card base I needed to add a light-coloured liner ,and so I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Then after removing the sellotape from the stamp rubber I reinked the stamp with Tuxedo Black ink. Once I’d replaced the sellotape over the inky words I stamped the car one last time in the centre towards the top of the white layer.
STYLISH WRONG TURN
All the hard work was now done and I was on the home stretch when I must have got distracted. I completely forgot about the coordinating All That Dies designed to work with the sentiments in the He’s All That Stamp Set.

Instead I reached for the Stylish Shapes Dies and chose the #4 circle die (counting from the smallest up). After using this die to cut out the combined image and sentiment I fixed the die-cut piece onto the front of the prepared card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals
Then I added three Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots following the curve at the bottom right of the sentiment.
Finally I glued the stamped Basic White layer inside the card base and my project was complete.
I’ve loved the He’s All That Stamp Set since I first saw it, and I don’t think there’s one project I’ve made that has disappointed me. I hope you like this one as much as I do.

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the He’s All That Stamp Set in a bundle with the coordinating All That Dies (not used today). Buying the two items using a single ‘bundle’ item number saved me 10% off the cost of buying them separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle below in case you want to explore this option for yourself.

Hello,
Very nice card. Your weather sounds like Missouri. One day we are cold and the next warm. Atleast we don’t get the kind of winter you all get up in Canada. Enjoy your day.
Thank you Lesa. we’ve had a very strange winter here in NOva Scotia that’s for sure.
