And just like that it’s time for another simple Sunday project. With only two more days to wait for the early release of the Fitting Florets Collection I have one last sneak peek for you. This card doesn’t actually use the Framed Florets Stamp Set or coordinating dies. Instead I wanted to bring you a pretty birthday card celebrating the Fitting Florets 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper. Like the rest of the collection it will be available starting November 1st, however this paper is only available while stocks last.

FITTING FLORETS DSP
I began by choosing a pretty floral design from the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper (DSP). First I cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece and attached it to the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I cut off the excess paper with my Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White Card. Then with the long edge at the top I scored the card at 4-1/4″. After folding the card along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a simple card base.
Going back to the patterned paper I cut a piece 3/4″ x 5-1/4″, along with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White Card. Then using liquid glue I fixed the DSP strip down the right-hand edge of the card layer. With that done I glued the assembled piece inside the card base.
For the card front I cut a piece of the same paper at 3″ x 6″. Then I cut this piece down to 3″ x 5-1/2″. After turning over the 1/2″ strip I glued it on top of the larger piece 1-1/2″ from the top edge.
CELEBRATING SIMPLICITY
With all the Fitting Florets paper pieces done it was time to stamp my sentiment. From the Celebrating You Stamp Set I chose “happy birthday” and stamped it onto a scrap of Thick Basic White Card using Evening Evergreen ink. Cutting it out was simple too using the Regular Postage Stamp Punch.

Before going any further I needed one final layer, a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Polished Pink Card. Once I’d cut the card I glued the layered paper on top with an even border at the left and right sides. Then I glued the assembled layers to the card base leaving a white 1/2″ border at each side.
Finally, using Stampin’ Dimensionals I added the stamped and punched sentiment onto the DSP layers 1-1/8″ from the top edge. With that this week’s simple Sunday project was complete.
So that’s the last of my Fitting Florets collection sneak peeks. If you missed my two earlier projects using some of these new products check out these blog posts:
