Despite the chill in the air, yesterday turned out to be a very lovely day. We made the most of it by driving to Parrsboro for lunch. Then on our way back we visited the Lighthouse Park at Five Islands. What struck me most was that almost all the leaves have now fallen. Of course we still have the evergreen trees but it’s sad to see the autumn colours gone. So to mark this seasonal milestone I created this project full of warm tones using the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set.

I began this simple bookmark with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White Card. Then for my autumn colours I chose ink pads in Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow.
Before stamping the leaves I first chose the “so grateful” sentiment from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set. Then using Cajun Craze ink I stamped it at the bottom of the card strip.
Next I took the large leaf image and stamped it four times, each one using a different colour ink. With that done I punched a hole at the top of the strip using the Label Me Fancy Punch.
Finally I cut three 6″ pieces of Linen Thread and poked them through the hole. Once I’d tied the threads together with a simple knot near the edge of the card my autumn bookmark was complete.
If you missed my tip for using the hole option on the Label Me Fancy Punch, check out this short video.
