Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for a simple Sunday project. Today I couldn’t resist using the Treasures of Life Stamp Set, and writing you a little poem.
The sun is shining and the sky is blue here's a simple stamping project from me to you. x

HEARTS ABOUND
Being Valentine’s Day I thought it appropriate to start with some hearts. So I pulled out the Snail Mail 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack and set to work.
First I cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece of the heart patterned paper. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed it to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Once in place I trimmed off the excess with Paper Snips, using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the DSP. I glued this strip down the right-hand edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White Card. Then against the edge of the DSP I added a 1/8″ x 5-1/4″ strip of Basic Black Card, and set the assembled layer aside.
Finally I cut a 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the DSP. This one was glued onto a 1-5/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Basic Black Card. I set this piece aside too while I made my card base.
Today I wanted the colour to be concentrated on the hearts so I chose Thick Whisper White Card for my card base. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card, then folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
TREASURES OF LIFE
It was only at this point that I wanted to put a sentiment inside my card.

From the Treasures of Life Stamp Set I chose “and the love only grows” . Then using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it onto my Whisper White layer. In hindsight I should have stamped first and then added the DSP strip, but I was careful not to mess up. With that done, I glued the completed layer inside the card base.
All I needed now was the focal point for the card front and for that I went back to the Treasures of Life Stamp Set.
This time I chose the poignant image of adult and child hands holding a heart with the words “I love you”. Then on a 2-5/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Whisper White Card I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black ink.
Once again I wanted to keep this simple so I took a dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends alcohol maker. Using just this one marker I simply coloured in the heart on the image. No blending or worrying about shading. It was all about making that part of the image stand out.

After that I used liquid glue to fix the image to a 2-3/4″ x 3″ layer of Basic Black Card. Then I finished my project by attaching the assembled layers to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
This really is a simple project, but I love the way it all came together. I must say the Treasures of Life Stamp Set is fast becoming one of my favourites. Not least because to me it is about family, and love across the generations. Treasures of Life is well-named.
I have lots more projects planned using this set, but for now here are a couple I showed you last month:
