I don’t know about you but I have a hard time visualising things in the ‘wrong’ colours. Like pink chickens or purple sunflowers. I’ve even found that I get hung up with Designer Series Paper (DSP) and just can’t see the coordinating stamp images in any other colour palette. So I surprised myself during my personal 24 cards in 24 hours challenge and really stepped outside my comfort zone. Using the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set I created this “thinking of you” card with an unusual Night of Navy maple leaf.

SIMPLE SOFT SEEDLINGS
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Night of Navy Card for my card base. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Orchid Oasis Card to the front.
Next I cut two 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of Basic White Card and a picked up a Basic White Medium Envelope. Using Night of Navy ink I stamped the combined maple leaf and seeds image in the bottom right corner on each piece. Then using liquid glue I fixed one of the stamped card layers inside the card base.
For the front of the card I made the other white layer smaller by tearing around the edges. Going back to the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set I chose the “thinking of you” sentiment and stamped it onto the torn layer. Then I mounted the stamped piece onto the front of the card base and my simple card was complete.
Well, I may never have seen a blue maple leaf before but I have to say I love how it turned out. What do you think?
