Despite the well reported “global shipping crisis” I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how Stampin’ Up! has managed to maintain supplies of their products. That’s not say some things don’t go out of stock occasionally, but it really is only a very small percentage of items. The Texture Chic 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) was briefly on that list. Thankfully it’s back and I can now show you this simple masculine / gender-neutral “Thinking of You” card. I think the design would work well with other sentiments too.

TEXTURE CHIC PIECES
I started this project by choosing a sheet from the Texture Chic DSP pack. One side of the sheets have simple printed designs while the other sides have gold foil details.
First I cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach it to the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed off the excess DSP with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
For the front of the card I cut a piece of the DSP at 3-3/4″ x 5″. To coordinate with the background I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Soft Succulent Card. Then I used liquid glue to mount the paper onto the card layer and set it aside.
I cut my last piece of Texture Chic paper at 3/4″ x 5-1/4. This was glued down the right-hand edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card.
By now I had decided to add some dramatic contrast and chose Evening Evergreen Card for my card base. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card, then folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
On the inside of the card base I used liquid glue to add the prepared Very Vanilla layer. Once the Texture Chic covered layer was added to the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals it was ready for a sentiment.
GO TO GREETINGS
The Go To Greetings Stamp Set really was very well named as it’s definitely a go-to for me. Today I chose the middle-sized “Thinking of you” sentiment and Evening Evergreen ink to coordinate with the card base.

I wanted the sentiment to stand out and so stamped it in the centre of a 1-3/8″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then using liquid glue I mounted it onto a 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ strip of Evening Evergreen Card.
While this is a simple card I thought a little embellishment wouldn’t hurt, but I wanted to avoid ‘bling’. So instead I reached for a pack of Classic Matte Dots. These are great for more subtle details and have glue dots on the back. I chose the 3mm Very Vanilla accents and added them in a line in the bottom right corner of the sentiment strip. Finally I attached the completed sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and my card was done.
I love how the large sentiment strip gives plenty of room for the “Thinking of you” sentiment to stand out. Now I can add this to my stash so it’s ready to use as soon as I need it. Do you keep a stash of cards ready made ‘just in case’?
