Once again the week has flown by and it’s time for another simple Sunday project. Today’s card uses two stamp sets. One, Greatest Journey, is retiring and only available while stocks last. The other, the sentiment-only Happy Labels, is apparently causing a little confusion. That’s because as an experiment Stampin’ Up!® offered this stamp set made in both red rubber and photopolymer. The red rubber version of the set is being retired (along with both discounted stamp set and punch bundles). However the photopolymer version will continue to be available.

I began my project with the large floral image from the Greatest Journey Stamp Set. Using Crumb Cake ink I stamped the image three times. First I stamped the whole image on the left side of a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then I stamped just the right half of the image in the bottom left corner of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Finally I stamped the right half of the image in the bottom left corner on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
HAPPY SIMPLICITY
Although I chose Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers I didn’t plan on doing any actual blending. Instead I used the dark Soft Sea Foam to colour all the leaves. Then on the second, third and fifth flower stems I coloured the flowers with light Fresh Freesia. For the two remaining stems I coloured the flowers with the dark Fresh Freesia. Finally, to add some variation in the leaves I went over the ones on the first and fourth stems once again using the same dark Soft Sea Foam marker.
With the colouring done it was time to add a sentiment beside the main image. So from the Happy Labels Set I chose the simple “hello” and stamped it using Crumb Cake ink. Now I was ready to cut the rest of the card pieces and assemble my project.

First, using my Paper Trimmer I cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake Card. Then with the long side at the top I used the scoring blade to score the card at 4-1/4″. After folding the card along the scored line I sharpened the crease with my Bone Folderb to create an A2 card base.
Next, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card on the inside.
Finally I cut a 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Fresh Freesia Card and glued the sentiment layer onto it, leaving an even border at the top and bottom. Then once I’d glued the assembled layers to the card front this week’s quick and easy project was complete.
