Happy Father’s Day and welcome to another simple Sunday here on my Papercraft With Me website. This is when I create a card or other paper project that can be made without any difficult techniques, or specialist equipment like a die-cutting machine or heat tool. Today‘s card uses the In The Moment Stamp Set. I love this image of someone sitting in a window with a mug in their hand, looking out at something we can’t see. To keep things interesting I stamped and cut the clothes from patterned paper.

WINDOW IMAGE TIMES 5
I began by cutting two pieces of Very Vanilla Card, one 3-3/4″ x 5″ and the other 4″ x 5-1/4″. Using Early Espresso ink I stamped the image in the bottom left corner of both card pieces. Then I stamped the image in the bottom left on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
Next I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. With the long side at the top I then used the scoring blade to score a line at 4-1/4″. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my A2 card base. Finally using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the larger of the two stamped Very Vanilla layers on the inside.
Before putting away the image stamp I then reached for the Fresh As A Daisy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. While this DSP has lots of colourful daisy designs, the reverse of each sheet has a simpler ‘painted’ background effect. What I was looking for were some scraps and I found several in Boho Blue and Wild Wheat. So I stamped the image once on each of the scraps and cut out the clothes using my Paper Snips.
With that done I used liquid glue to fix the blue trousers and yellow top onto the image stamped on the smaller of the two Very Vanilla layers. Then I took the Early Espreesso Stampin’ Write Marker from the Neutrals set and coloured in the hair on the Very Vanilla layer as well as the yellow top.
THOUGHTFUL MOMENT
The rest of the card came together really quickly as I went back to the In The Moment Stamp Set and selected “You’re in my thoughts”. Using Early Espresso ink I stamped the simple sentiment onto a 1/2″ x 2-1/2″ strip of Very Vanilla Card.

Then from the scraps of Fresh As A Daisy DSP I found two 3/4″ strips of the same paper I’d used for the clothes. The Wild Wheat strip was 3-1/4″ long and the Boho Blue strip was a little shorter at 3″ but that would still work.
So on the Very Vanilla layer I used liquid glue to attach the Wild Wheat strip coming in from the left side, with the Boho Blue one coming in from the right and slightly higher. Then I simply glued the sentiment strip on top of the DSP.
To finish I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Wild Wheat Card and glued the Very Vanilla layer on top leaving an even border on all sides. Then I added the assembled layers to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my simple card was complete.
I love how this card turned out, especially since I was able to use up some of my DSP scraps. What’s your favourite technique for making the most of paper and/or card scraps? Please leave a comment below and share your ideas.
