Happy Canada Day! It’s hard to believe that we’re into the second half of 2023 already. Hubby and I both have full to-do lists as we hopefully finish the construction of our home network this weekend. We have a little more hardwiring to do, and then we can transfer all our remaining devices to it. Our new service appears to be four times faster than the old one which is a huge improvement, and this means I’ll finally be able to get back to making videos for my YouTube channel.

So while I get on with that, here’s a quick and easy sticky notes project for you to enjoy.
SIMPLE CONSTRUCTION
I began with a pale blue (but boring) 3″ x 3″ sticky notes pad and some Pebbled Path Card. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut the card to 3-1/8″ x 6-3/4″. Then with the long side at the top I scored it at 3-1/8″ and 3-5/8″. After folding the card along the scored lines I sharpened the creases really well with a Bone Folder. Finally I wrapped the card around the sticky notes pad and fixed the pad to the back section using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next, from the Construction Zone Stamp Set I chose the crane image. Using Pebbled Path ink I stamped the crane near the top of a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Basic White Card. Then I coloured the image using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. For the circles along the bottom of the crane I used light Pebbled Path, before switching to light and dark Pumpkin Pie for the rest.
With the colouring complete I mounted the image onto a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Balmy Blue Card using liquid glue. Then I attatched the assembled layers onto the sticky notes cover with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
ALTERED SENTIMENT
All I needed now was a sentiment and for that I went back to the Construction Zone Stamp Set. I chose “Thought you could use a pick-me-up” and then decided to change it a little.

So I cleaned the stamp and stamped it onto some scrap paper a couple of times to make sure that it really was clean. Then I cut some pieces of sellotape and placed them over the stamp rubber to cover the parts of the sentiment that I didn’t want. Next I tapped the stamp onto a Pebble Path ink pad before carefully removing and discarding the sellotape. Finally I stamped the remaining words at the left end of a 1/2″ x 2-5/8″ strip of Basic White Card. So now with the top line of words and the dashes on the second line removed my sentiment simply said “pick me up”.

Now I needed a 3/4″ x 5-5/8″ strip of Pebbled Path Card, and glued my customised sentiment on top. Then from the 2023-2025 In Color Dots I chose the smallest Pebbled Path embellishments and added three of them in a line to finish off the sentiment.
Finally, using Stampin’ Dimensionals I attached the assembled piece in the space below the crane and I was done. Now I have somewhere to write down things I’d like hubby to pick up while he’s out. I hope he appreciates my thoughfulness, lol.
HAPPY CANADA DAY to you!🇨🇦
