Yesterday seemed to be another one of those days with lots of things to do and not enough time to do it in. Despite starting early I have a number of carry-over items on my to-do list today. But first I wanted to bring you instructions for another card designed and made during my personal “24 cards in 24 hours” challenge. The layout for this one is very simple and uses a 6” x 6” piece of patterned paper plus a very large sentiment from the Stepping Stones Stamp Set.

TEXTURE CHIC
I began by choosing a simple geometric design from the Texture Chic 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. I cut a 6″ x 6″ piece and then cut a 2-1/4″ strip off the side of that. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached this strip to the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed off the excess paper with my Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Before cutting any more paper I decided to make my A2 card base next, Taking the DSP as my inspiration I chose Coastal Cabana Card and cut a piece 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. After scoring the card at 4-1/4″, I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with my Bone Folder.
Going back to what was left of my 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP I cut off a 1″ x 4″ piece. Using liquid glue I fixed this strip along one short side of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Then, keeping the crease of the card base at the top, I glued the assembled layer inside with the DSP on the left.
Finally I cut a 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of the DSP and, with the crease at the top, I glued the DSP to the left side of the card front. To add a finished look I cut a 1/4″ x 4-1/4″ strip of Gold Foil Sheet and glued it up against the right-hand edge of the DSP.
STEPPING STONES
All I needed now was the sentiment-only Stepping Stones Stamp Set. These 6 sentiments are quotastions and all fairly large. This means they’re ideal to use as the focal point on cards or other projects. Today I chose a quote from Helen Keller “Alone, we can do so little. Together we can do so much”.

Using VersaMark ink I stamped the sentiment into some Basic White Card. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with gold powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders pack. Next I tapped off the excess and removed some stray specks before melting the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
From there I took out my full-size Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I’ve already separated the dies into the two nesting groups plus the single stand-alone die. So from my group of eight dies I chose #4 (counting up from the smallest in that group).
After cutting out the sentiment I mounted it onto the front of my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I was done.
Such a simple design but the gold touches and bold sentiment really make it stand out. What do you think?
