Oh my goodness, have you taken a look at the limited release coordinating dies yet? I had fun yesterday with the Birthday Dies that coordinate with the free Sale-A-Bration Happy Birthday To You Stamp Set. After that I picked up the Special Day Dies that coordinate with the Special Someone Stamp Set. I already knew that there were dies to cut out the cute animals, balloons and flowers, but how did I miss the speech bubble?

IT’S THE RACCOON AGAIN
If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know that I fell in love with the raccoon in the Special Someone Stamp Set. So it should come as no surprise that I started my project with him.
I first stamped the line drawing of the raccoon onto some Thick Very Vanilla Card using Soft Suede ink. Next I inked up the solid image and ‘stamped off’ onto some scrap paper. Then I stamped the image on top of the line drawing. By stamping off first I was able to get a lighter version of the Soft Suede ink.
With the Soft Suede ink pad already open I decided to stamp the “happy birthday” sentiment next onto Thick Very Vanilla Card. In no time at all I was ready to begin die-cutting my pieces.
SPEECH BUBBLE AND MORE
From the Special Day Dies I first cut out the raccoon using the coordinating die. Then I used the speech bubble die to cut out the sentiment.
As I wanted to create a little scene on my project I found some scraps of card suitable for grass and flowers. I began by using the 4 flower die to cut some Lovely Lipstick Card. I wasn’t sure I’d need all four flowers but I could keep any leftovers for another day.
Then I used the long edge die to cut some grass from a long scrap of Call Me Clover Card.
Just for a change I decided to cut my gift tag using the #C4 die from the Stitched Rectangles (counting from the smallest up). Then I used the same die to cut two pieces from my die-cut grass strip. After cutting the first piece I moved the die up a little so the second piece had shorter grass. Now my grass pieces had ‘stitching’ on the sides and bottom that would match the tag base.

To turn the die-cut rectangle into a tag base all I needed to do was add a hole at the top. In fact instead of a hole I added a ribbon slot using the new Label Me Fancy Punch.
SIMPLE ASSEMBLY
Finally I was ready to put it all together starting with the ‘longer’ grass’ piece and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Next I added the raccoon image followed by two of the flowers. After that came the ‘shorter’ grass piece fixed to the tag with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added a flower using a small piece of a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. To add some bling I finished each of the flowers with a Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the centre.

For my ribbon I chose the 5/16″ Braided Burlap Trim, simply threaded through the slot and held in place with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.
That just left my “happy birthday” speech bubble which I fixed into place with a few more Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I loved the Special Someone Stamp Set before, and I must say that the coordinating Special Day Dies just make it even more, well, special. What do you think?
