One of the amazing things about papercrafting is the endless possibilities. Even though I may have used a product multiple times simple changes can make it seem fresh and new again. The masculine He’s The Man suite was new in the 2022/2023 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue but it seems like we’ve had it longer. The year before we were treated to the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I love these dies and have used them to tailor make other shaped pieces like the sentiment label on this Father’s Day gift tag.

LIGHT TAG BASE
Today’s project uses the tag dies in two ways. First from the set I chose the largest of the fancy topped dies and the small hole reinforcement die. Using these I cut a piece of Soft Sea Foam Card. Then going back to the same large tag die I cut a pretty square pattern from the Hello Irresistible 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack.
To assemble the tag base I used Mutlipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the two large tag shapes back-to-back. Then I added one of the small doughnut shaped hole reinforcement pieces to each side. Finally I threaded some white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.
Now I wanted a dramatic contrast to the soft colours of the tag and found some scraps of Copper Foil Sheet. Next I attached some Adhesive Sheet to the back of the foil. Then from the All That Dies I took the two ‘argyle’ diamond-shaped dies and used them to cut out the foil. All I had to do now was remove the backing from the Adhesive Sheet and press the die-cut shapes onto the tag front.
TAILOR MADE LABEL
It was only at this point I decided to turn this into a gift tag for Father’s Day. So from the He’s All That Stamp Set I chose “Wishing you a happy Father’s Day”. Then using Evening Evergreen ink I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Soft Sea Foam Card.

Now I needed to cut out the sentiment but I wanted a shape that wouldn’t hide too much of the copper foil details on the tag. Also I quite liked the faux stitched edge around the tag and wanted to include that on my sentiment piece too. I had the perfect solution… use the Tailor Made Tags Dies to create the sentiment label but without the hole.
This is actually quite simple to do when you get the hang of it as I show in this short video.
After using this process to cut out the sentiment I simply attached it to the tag front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.
I’ve had so much fun using the Tailor Made Tags Dies over the past two years and I’m hoping they don’t appear on the Stampin’ Up! retiring list on Wednesday. Even so this is one set of dies that will have a place in my craft studio forever.
