My regular readers will know I’m a complete sucker for cute animal and people images. Somehow the Stampin’ Up! artists always seem to put great expressions on the faces which always makes me smile. That’s why I fell in love with the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set. These kind of images work well with almost any sentiment and I’ve had lots of fun finding new combinations. One of my favourite sentiments to use with animal images is “You made a little human!” as shown in this sweet and simple baby card.

PEEKABOO PIG
This project began when I pulled out the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set and chose the wall and pig images. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the wall onto a 2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Basic White Card. This wall image has a couple of gaps at the top designed to line up with the front legs of your chosen animal. The see-through photopolymer material of the stamp made it easy to stamp the pig in place using Tuxedo Black ink.
Before moving on I decided to use the pig image as my coordinating feature. So first I stamped him peeking in the bottom right-hand corner on the front of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I did the same thing on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card.
Now I was ready to colour the pigs and wall using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
Starting with the wall I added a dark Smoky Slate line around the bottom of each stone. Then I coloured the whole of each stone with light Smoky Slate. For the mortar I used just a light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. On the three pig images I used dark Flirty Flamingo for the hooves, snout and inside the ears. Finally I coloured the rest of the pigs with light Flirty Flamingo.
While liked the main image so far I wasn’t happy with the white area that was left. So I used a Blending Brush to add a little Starry Sky ink and make it look like a blue sky.
QUICK FINISH
So far the stamping and colouring had been a very quick process and I wanted the rest of the project to be equally simple.
First, using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some Crumb Cake Card for my card base. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I fixed the large white layer on the inside using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

At this point I remembered I still needed to stamp the “You made a little human!” sentiment from the One Happy Family Stamp Set. So I found a scrap of Basic White Card and stamped it using Tuxedo Black ink.
My plan had been to cut the sentiment as a strip and add it on top of the pig panel. However as I began to play I realised that I didn’t need to do that. Instead I simply glued the 1-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ piece onto the front of the card base. Then using Stampin’ Dimensionals I added the pig layer on top and my card was complete.
I must say that I don’t think I’ve ever layered a sentiment and focal image in this way before, but I love it. And once again the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set has contributed to a project that makes me smile.
