Since the 2019 Holiday Catalogue Retiring List was published yesterday I've been going through my stamp sets. I'm always sad to see a product retiring, especially when I'd been sure it would make the carry-over list. Beautiful Blizzard is one such set. It's retiring and I wanted to give it at least one more outing. Today though I avoided the blues and grey and went with much brighter colours to bring you a Beautiful Blizzard project with not a snowflake in sight. SEASONS GREETINGS I ... VIEW POST
World Diabetes Day
Today, November 14th is World Diabetes Day, and a day that I felt the need I had to mark. At the age of 23 our son Russell was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and immediately went onto a regime of daily insulin injections, quickly progressing to 4 per day. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the pancreas causing it to produce little or no insulin. This means that the body is unable to process glucose. Despite active research there is currently no cure ... VIEW POST
If A Hug Were A Snowflake
Have you ever looked at a stamp set and thought “what on earth is that?” If you’ve done that recently I wonder if it was while looking at the Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set. It’s a really simple set with 5 lovely greetings and some snow and snowflake images. Then there’s two images that I can only describe as ‘splats’. So for today’s simple Sunday project I thought I show you one of those splats in action. My project actually began with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card that I cut and ... VIEW POST
Blizzard Thinlits Background Die
On Saturday I showed you a project created using background stamping. Today I have another interesting background technique using the Blizzard Thinlits Die. This is a large die that is designed to coordinate with the Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set and works as a two-for-one. BLIZZARD THINLITS DIE I began this project by covering a layer of Night of Navy Card with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. Then using my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform I cut it out using the Blizzard Thinlits Die. I ... VIEW POST
Beautiful Blizzard Snowflakes
A few days ago I created a card with embossed and die-cut snowflakes from the new Beautiful Blizzard Bundle. I really like this bundle and the snowflakes all have 6 sides, which I know is important to many people. There's also some gorgeous sentiments (words and type-face) in the stamp set too. So I suppose it was inevitable I'd end up with a bookmark idea for today's simple Sunday project. OH SO SIMPLE SNOWFLAKES I began, as usual, with a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Thick Whisper White ... Beautiful Blizzard On A Frosty Morning
Ooh yesterday was chilly! We had our first frost and it was well into the morning before the sun melted it away. Luckily our tomatoes and peppers are in the greenhouse so I've still got time to harvest them. It was a reminder though that autumn is here and winter won't be far behind. I suppose it's only fitting then that I chose yesterday to ink up my new Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set. This stamp set and the coordinating Blizzard Thinlits Die are simply stunning with a variety of snowflake ... VIEW POST
