This morning I had absolutely no idea what to make for my blog project so you have my daughter to thank for this. She suggested a few things including a card with a supportive message. So from a pile of older but still available stamp sets I pulled out Let It Ride. Then seeing my 'failed' block stamped background from the other day I set to work. BLOCK STAMP FAIL AND SUCCESS As I said, the background for today's card was actually a 'failed' attempt at block stamping from a few days ... VIEW POST
Country Images
Sometimes I pick up a stamp set with a particular idea in mind and then something else occurs to me. Like yesterday with Let It Ride. That's the stamp set with the lovely horse images and sentiments. I decided that I simply had to combine it with Country Livin' and ended up with this gift tag. RUSTIC TAG BASE I began by making my tag base. Taking a 2" x 3-1/2" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card I covered one side with some of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper using Multipurpose ... VIEW POST
Take Life By The Reins
Today's project was a happy accident. I wanted to get that out in the open from the start. I've been having a bit of a sort out and found some scraps of card that had got creased somehow. I used to throw those pieces away, but not any longer. I have a simple 30 second solution for saving those pieces. So I decided to take life by the reins and create a 30 second solution video for you. Ok, so I took a little bit of poetic licence and exaggerated the creases in the Call Me Clover ... VIEW POST
Keep A Small Card Handy
Yesterday was fun, I attended a local craft fair and met some lovely people. I'm always grateful when I'm able to see and hear people's reactions to my projects. I only decided to attend this event towards the end of last week so it's all been a bit of a rush. So while I catch up on a few postponed tasks at home, here's a Simple Sunday design for a small card. SMALL CARD AND ENVELOPE Instead of creating my own card base I decided to use one of the pre-made ones from Stampin' Up!. I ... VIEW POST
Live Life Make Memories
One of the things I've noticed about my daughter (and others of her generation) is that they take a lot of photos. What I've also noticed is that they rarely, if ever, make it out of electronic format. I know it's nice to have photos at your fingertips but sometimes printed photos are nicer. I love being able to share and talk about memories while flicking through an actual photo album. Sharing memories doesn't mean you have to create elaborate 12" x 12" scrap book pages. I've done that ... VIEW POST
Let It Ride – My First Horse
Yesterday I had three parcels in transit from Stampin' Up! Two had a single item in and one was my big order from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. Two parcels got held up at the border, but not the big one!! So I've got lots of new goodies to play with starting with Let It Ride. THE HORSE I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, which is why I love stamping. I chose to start with the horse head image stamped with the help of my Stamparatus onto Very Vanilla Card using Crumb ... VIEW POST
