It seems like every time I look at my stamp sets I see another link to the new catalogues. Yesterday it was free Lily Impressions paper and the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set and Lakeside Dies. Today I have something for all the fishermen and women out there. I was looking at a fairly plain, brown design in the Tropical Oasis 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. It has a very subtle pattern that reminded me of fabric. I thought it would be even better if it were embossed and that's how ... VIEW POST
Taking Inspiration from The Bay
Despite having lived most of my life in a very large town in the UK I think I'm a country girl at heart. Now I'm lucky enough to live in a very rural part of Nova Scotia and I never tire of the scenery. In fact it was the view out over the bay that inspired this card. FIRST PREPARE YOUR FISH For this project started with the fish image from the Best Catch Stamp Set. Using my Stamparatus I first stamped it onto some Window Sheet using StazOn jet Black ink and set it aside to dry. ... VIEW POST
It’s photo season
Finally it seems like we're getting more good weather than bad. Even my apple trees have finally decided to display their best blossom finery. The scent all around the outside of the house is amazing, I wish you could smell it. So better weather makes for better photographs (for the most part) and my thoughts have turned to photo albums. I love getting small (4" x 6") pocket photo albums from the Dollar Store and dressing them up in various ways. I'm getting quite a collection now, and ... VIEW POST
No Pout From This Trout
Have you ever had an idea that turned out even better than you imagined? It doesn't happen to me very often but when it does I simply can't wait to share it with you. What's even more amazing is that it's a masculine project which is notoriously challenging. So without any further delay, I bring you my sparkling trout gift tag. CATCH OF THE DAY I began the project with the tag base. First I used my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform to cut a piece of Sahara Sand Card using the #4 ... VIEW POST
Fly Fisherman Timing
Have you ever been fishing? I must admit it's a hobby that's never appealed to me, but I do appreciate the skills needed to succeed. Patience and preparation, being quiet and still then a sudden burst of activity. Even getting the hook into the water is an art form, especially if you're a fly fisherman. Today's project features the Best Catch Stamp Set and coordinating Catch of the Day Thinlits. I also have some important news from Stampin' Up!, but like that fisherman, you'll just have to ... What A Catch
I'm always on the lookout for stamp sets and other products with a masculine feel. That's not to say they can't be used on projects for the ladies but they're less fussy and flowery. I am also drawn to products that reflect the area in which I live, Nova Scotia, Canada. So I'm more into fishing and woods than cactus and tropical beaches. So you can imagine my delight when I saw the new Best Catch Stamp Set. TESTING THE WATERS When I get a new stamp set I often start with a sort of ... VIEW POST
