After yesterday's rather stressful morning, today has been a lot more peaceful. I sat down to create a project and immediately found a sentiment that sparked an idea. Then it all came together exactly as I'd hoped. PEACEFUL SCENE "These are the moments we'll look back on with joy" comes from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for the front of a photo album. I have a stock of these mini pocket albums that take 4" x 6" photos and love ... VIEW POST
Throwback Thursday & The Retiring List
Yesterday Stampin' Up! revealed the list of products that will be retiring on June 2nd. Actually there are two lists, one for the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue and Beginners Brochure, and a separate list for the January to June Mini Catalogue. I always receive these lists with mixed feelings. I'm sad to see lovely products go, but at the same time I'm excited for all the new products I know will be taking their place. Over the coming weeks I plan to revisit some older projects created ... VIEW POST
Masking And Then More Masking
One of the advantages of having designed and made 24 different cards on 24 hours for my World Card Making Day Challenge is that I now have a stash of projects to show you. The only question is what order to show them in. For today's project I decided on this cute birthday card using a couple of masking techniques. FIRST THINGS FIRST I started this project with some pretty paper from the Let It Snow Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. First I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to ... VIEW POST
It’s photo season
Finally it seems like we're getting more good weather than bad. Even my apple trees have finally decided to display their best blossom finery. The scent all around the outside of the house is amazing, I wish you could smell it. So better weather makes for better photographs (for the most part) and my thoughts have turned to photo albums. I love getting small (4" x 6") pocket photo albums from the Dollar Store and dressing them up in various ways. I'm getting quite a collection now, and ... VIEW POST
The Best Artwork
Whenever Stampin' Up! brings out a new catalogue I immediately turn to the new stamp sets. Even if a particular set doesn't appeal to me, I still appreciate the skill of the artists at Stampin' Up! There's something for everyone but I've found I'm drawn to stamp sets with images that have been designed to be coloured. One of the best new examples of that is the A Good Man Stamp Set, and I knew this image would make a great bookmark. SIMPLE PREPARATION To begin my project I cut a 2" x ... VIEW POST
Artfully Aware for #WWYS213
A quarter of the year already gone and thankfully now, most of our remaining snow. Yesterday we spent time in the garden tidying up and thinking about the vegetables we want to plant this year. It was so nice to be able to sit on the deck with our coffee and not need a jumper. Looking out over the bay I was suddenly struck with an idea for this week's What Will You Stamp? challenge #WWYS213 Artfully Aware. It's been far too long since I last created a sponged scene so I thought I'd video ... VIEW POST
