Finally there's definite signs of spring here in Nova Scotia. The temperature is in the double digits (just), and the grass is turning green. The grass turning brown in winter doesn't happen in the UK, but I've had to get used to it since moving here. So seeing that first tinge of green outside is a big thing now. The local critters are more active too. Yesterday in the space of an hour we had 4 deer on the front lawn and a gorgeous fox at the back. We also had a visit from an strange tabby ... VIEW POST
Summer Scenes Are In The Past
Well yesterday was eventful with horrendous wind and rain, and we weren't the only ones who lost power for a while. By the end of the day the few remaining leaves on our maple trees had gone and the landscape is looking much sadder. But instead of brooding I'll look back at a summer scene on a project I made for World Card Making Day. I'm not quite ready to surrender to the damp and cold just yet. How Now Brown Cow
Isn't it funny how memory works. There I was creating my card this morning and all of a sudden a phrase popped into my head. "How now brown cow" was something I remember from my childhood. Cow’s it going? Could be better…
The fact that my blog post is late being published should give you a clue about my morning. We're currently under an extreme heat warning here in Nova Scotia and it's already 20 degrees C by 9am. Then later today with the humidity it could end up feeling like 40 degrees! As if that wasn't enough, while working at my computer I got up to get a fresh coffee. I realised that the power lead was in danger of tripping me up so brought my foot up fast to avoid it and bashed by Achilles tendon on ... VIEW POST
First take one cow…
It's going to be a very busy day for me today. I have a booth at the Show and Shine event at Wentworth, Nova Scotia tomorrow and there's still lots to do, so my project and blog post will have to be quick. As luck would have it, I had a couple of new stamp sets delivered yesterday so that would be a good start. Then the Just Add Ink challenge dropped into my Inbox this morning. I took the colours from the challenge and one cow from the new Over The Moon Stamp Set and got to work. CAN A ... VIEW POST
