When I was doing my personal World Card Making Day challenge last month I really tried to make each of my 24 cards quite different. I varied the stamps sets, used patterned paper and made my own backgrounds. I even varied the occasions too. This masculine / gender-neutral birthday card was the 5th card I made that day, and it was all about the paper. I tried stamping a sentiment, but in the end the Birthday Chick Dies won out. Birthday Sentiment Without Any Stamping
Back To Black And Quiet Meadow
So it's October 31st and another month has simply flown by. My regular readers will know I'm not big on Halloween but in the 'spirit' of the occasion I thought I'd bring you this black card. It's a "Thinking of You" card using a sentiment from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. If you followed my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge earlier this month on Facebook you may remember it. This is probably one of my favourites from that marathon session. I don't often design mainly black cards, but this one ... VIEW POST
Cheers With Tidings And Trimmings
Once again my planned project didn't quite turn out as I'd originally planned. This morning I sat down intending to make a Christmas-themed bottle tag. It was inspired by the "Cheers from our home to yours" sentiment from the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set. However despite pulling out card in traditional Christmas red and green, things took an entirely different direction. Sometimes that's just how it goes... BOTTLE TAG BASICS My bottle tag started very simply with a 2-3/4" x ... VIEW POST

To celebrate, here's a quick and easy thank you card using the whole Simply Elegant Suite. SIMPLE LAYERS I began this project by using my Paper ... VIEW POST
Elegant And Simple For This Birthday Card
One of the issues I have with "masculine" cards is that they're often drab. But it doesn't have to be that way. While you may want to avoid colourful flowers that are seen as more feminine, it's still possible to create an interesting card. So that was my challenge this morning, and I couldn't help reaching for the entire Simply Elegant Suite Collection to help me. SIMPLY ELEGANT DSP My card began with the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper (DSP). There's lots of gorgeous designs ... VIEW POST
Simply Elegant Paper Makes It Easy
Whenever I consider buying new packs of patterned paper I always look for versatility. Does this paper only work with one or two occasions, or does it have a wider appeal? The Simply Elegant 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) ticks all the boxes for me. It has designs with shiny foil elements, and it has designs without foil. There's flowers which will appeal to some, and other patterns that are more masculine or gender-neutral. So for today's project I wanted to focus on the ... VIEW POST
