It’s warm, the sun is shining and my to do list is full of fun stuff. It’s going to be a great day. One of my ‘tasks’ is to go through some prints that my daughter took and sent to me recently. All are of her family, but it was a black and white photo that immediately caught my eye. I’d seen this picture of my twin granddaughters when she first took it last year. Today my plan was to use it on a scrapbook page for my family album. SUN PRINTS BACKGROUND My initial idea was to use a ... VIEW POST
Snowy Beauty As We Clean Up
As predicted, the winter storm that started on Friday evening continued for most of yesterday. The power went out Friday night and wasn't restored until 8.45pm on Saturday. So there was nothing for it but to hunker down inside and ride it out. During the daylight hours I managed to do a little crafting and re-organising while hubby worked on getting power from our new generator into the house. Bamboo Beauty With A Japanese Proverb
Bamboo Beauty is one of those stamp sets that I wasn't originally going to get, but now I keep finding myself drawn to it. I've already made two cards but I knew it would be perfect for a bookmark. Today's bookmark would be built around those words. First I cut a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of ... VIEW POST
Block Stamped Background Rediscovered
During my craft room reorganisation one of the things I love is rediscovering old projects. That's especially true when it reminds me of a technique or design that I haven't used in ages. Today's card came about as a result of one of those discoveries, and it's all about the block stamping technique. SIMPLE BLOCK STAMPING I began my project with a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Shimmery White Card that I found among my scraps. Shimmery White Card takes water nicely so is a good choice for ... VIEW POST
Bamboo Beauty Makes Its Debut
After yesterday's difficult morning things definitely improved. Right now I'm trying to do a major declutter and reorganisation of my craft studio. It's well overdue but a good use of my time while in quarantine. I did stop just long enough though to make this simple project for a friend using the new Bamboo Beauty Stamp Set. SIMPLE BAMBOO The Bamboo Beauty Stamp Set has two tall bamboo stems and two leaf images, plus some lovely sentiments. I began with the thicker stem and first ... VIEW POST
