Today's card is a very different looking Christmas card. I had fully intended to use at least some patterned paper but in the end the embossing folder won. The finished look is quite striking, even though my photos really don't do it justice. MERRY & BRIGHT It all started when I chose the "May your days be merry & bright" sentiment from the Toile Christmas Stamp Set. I thought it would look nice embossed in white on Night of Navy Card so that's what I did. First I stamped ... VIEW POST
Don’t Overlook Christmas Layers
With all the lovely products available in the Stampin' Up! August to December Mini Catalogue it's easy to overlook older products. So yesterday when I came across the Christmas Layers Dies I put them on my desk to remind me to use them. Little did I know that would be just the start. By the time I'd finished, I'd used two stamp sets and two sets of dies from the Annual Catalogue. CHRISTMAS LAYERS As I said, this project all started with the Christmas Layers Dies. From the three larger ... VIEW POST
Getting Started With A Decoration
Last night I went to bed late with no idea what I was going to make for today's blog project. By the time I awoke this morning an idea for a pretty rosette decoration had magically popped into my head. A DECORATION FROM SCRAPS I began with a scrap of the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) that was 1-1/2" x 11-3/4". Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool I carefully scored the DSP at 1/2" and then every 1/2" after that to the end. Then I flipped the paper over and scored it ... VIEW POST
Sidetracked By The Scenery
I am often inspired in my crafting by the local scenery here in Nova Scotia. At this time of year it is the amazing autumn colour palette that has me stopping the car, or jumping up from my desk. When the light is just right everything seems to glow. Sadly though, today may be one of my last opportunities to admire autumn at it's finest as we are due some bad weather which will likely strip the remaining leaves from the trees. So here's a gift tag inspired by a trip out yesterday... A ... VIEW POST
Toile Christmas Sneak Peek
Yesterday's Christmas decor piece was quite minimalist but still you seemed to like it. Today I have a card idea for you using the new Toile Christmas Stamp Set. As soon as I saw the bird and branch images I knew this set would be winging its way into my studio. On the day it arrived I inked it up to create this striking cardinal card. CARDINAL COLOURS I started this project with the Toile Christmas Stamp Set and the large branch image. Using Mossy Meadow ink I first stamped it ... VIEW POST
Feels Like Frost Sneak Peek
It's Sunday, it's a tad chilly, and it's time for another sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue. Today's Simple Sunday project uses a few new items but I want you to concentrate on just one. Today is all about the Feels Like Frost 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. But first the project... CHRISTMAS WISHES I began with the new Christmas Toile Stamp Set, specifically the Christmas Wishes sentiment inside a banner border. Using Night of Navy ink I ... VIEW POST
